WARM-UP
Write a short story (4-6 sentences). Include nominative and objective pronouns, but leave space for them (do not write them out). Switch your story with a partner. If there is an uneven number, switch with me. Your partner will fill in the blanks with the proper pronoun. Switch back and check your partner's answers.
(5 minutes)
COMPLETION OF NOM./ OBJ. PRONOUNS
Complete the activity that we were working on on Monday! We left off at number 4. Hold up A for the first word and B for the second.

When should we use each?
WHO/WHOM PREZI
1. View the Prezi presentation on the steps to determine when to use who and when to use whom
2. Complete the ladder activity. List the steps on your graphic organizers. You can use the
Prezi to help you.
WHO/WHOM USAGE
Exercise You will be given a worksheet.
In your GROUPS OF 3 based on where you are sitting, determine if it is who/whom. Write it on your blank sheet and hold it up!
You will have 30 seconds to complete each problem
INDEPENDENT WORK
Answer the problems by choosing who or whom based on the usage in the sentence.
Mark your answer and hold up your choral responses (A/B forms)
If you got at least 5/7, you are in good shape!
TAKE AWAY
On your sheets (laminated), write 1 thing you learned in class today. Is there anything you thought was interesting or that you didn’t like?
PROBLEMS IN PRONOUN USE
Warm-UP
Identify where who/whom was used incorrectly.
We will review it as a class until all answers have been found.
TYPES OF PROBLEMS Elliptical Clauses
Reflexive Pronouns
Appositives
• Incomplete construction
• Use pronoun as if construction was completed
• Cindy has longer hair than (I/me).
• Pronouns that end in –self or –selves.
• ONLY refer to another word in the sentence.
• Ex. I hurt myself.
• Joey and himself would not work because it is not referring to someone in the sentence.
• Same case as word in apposition to.
• For example: “The principal called the two boys, Hale and him in for a conference.” The choice (HIM) must be the same as boys, which is in the objective case. The principal is the subject.
CREATION!
Create an elliptical clause, a reflexive clause, and an appositive clause in groups of 3. Refer to the previous slide.
GROUP WORK
Answer problems 1-25 on your exercise. Hold up A for the first word and B for the second. Also, mark the correct one on your papers so you can study from them
SAMPLE UNIT TEST
Complete the sample unit test for homework. We will go over it in class tomorrow!
