ProMount “Stick & Stay” Flush Mount Backing System Benefits/Advantages• Easily Installs with “Stick & Stay” Mounting Adhesive• Adjusts to various stud layout and stud spacing – installs one stud bay at a time.• Works with 1-1/4”, 1-5/8”, 2”, 2-1/2” and 3” stud flanges – one part does it all.• Low Profile Flange to accommodate vertical “in-wall” MEP trades work without notching.• Save Money, Re-Use STUD and TRACK scrap material as backing• Meets OSHPD, ADA, DSA wall backing standards – IBC 2012 / CBC 2013• Mounts FLUSH with the framing surface. No “Material Build-up” for smoother, flatter drywall. No Screw Pops.• Approved for Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 and Type 4 Backing Loads
Basic UseProMount is a light gauge steel backing [mounts] system and backing plates that install stud bay-by-stud bay, eliminating the troubles of notched track backing. ProMount backing mounts are secured together with an adhesive label that enables it to be easily installed on vertical studs. ProMount backing plates (PBP) are designed with low profile returns allowing maximum in-wall [stud cavity] space for MEP trades installed work. The ProMount components install flush with the stud members, eliminating excess material build–up. Moreover, standard 6-inch (33 mil. or 54 mil. or greater) stud and track scrap materials can be re-used and installed as backing plates. This pre-engineered framing system can be used in lieu of flat strap backing, notched track backing and other screwed and welded backing methods that are built-up and result in material overlaps. The ProMount Backing system is a cost effective means of installing backing when stud lay out varies.
ProMount is made of 16-gauge and 14-gauge (54 & 68 mil.) galvanized steel complying with industry standard ASTM performance criteria for metal stud framing members. The members fasten with No. 10 sheet metal screws (SMS).

1 600 Series Promount Backing System
2 Style: Example: Backing Plate = PBP The three designations utilized by the designator system are: PBP = ProMount Backing Plate
3 Material Thickness: Example: 0.054 in. = 54 mils; 1 in. = 1/1000 in. Material thickness is the minimum base metal thickness in mils. Minimum base metal thickness represents 95% of design thickness.
2. ProMount Backing Brackets are not required to be used in pairs on each backing stud.
3. Extend backing plate on bay beyond edge of cabinet or equipment to fasten to adjacent backing stud. However, backing plates are not required to continue an additional stud bay beyond equipment unless required by IOR.
4. See chart for approved use conditions for backing plates.
5. Minimum backing stud thickness is 33 mil. For backing studs with flanges larger than 2", 54 mil. is required.
6. PROMOUNT backing plates come in 14-3/8" lengths for 16" O.C. framing and 22-3/8" lengths for 24" O.C. framing. ProMount backing plates, stud sections and track sections can be cut to length to meet vertical stud bay spacing as required.
