INTRODUCTION

2016 Attendee Breakdown

The Pulmonary Hypertension Associa on’s Interna onal PH Conference and Scien fic Sessions is the largest gathering of pa ents, caregivers and medical professionals in the pulmonary hypertension community. With more than 25 years of building a strong and effec ve community to fight PH, PHA’s 13th Interna onal PH Conference and Scien fic Sessions should be the largest one yet. Taking place in Orlando, Florida, where PHA was formed over 25 years ago, pa ents, caregivers and families will love this fun vibrant atmosphere.

Based on a endee feedback, we have updated the agenda for the event and are providing new sponsorship opportuni es that we feel will be valuable to all par cipants. For the first me ever, we will be providing lunch to all a endees prior to the official Conference Kick‐Off! Addi onally, we are including more family events for the pediatric community and Spanish language and hearing impaired access. Keeping Conference tradi ons such as the Fashion show and Journey’s Luncheon, but altering the Awards Dinner on Friday night to a shorter program, we believe the changes will be well received by all a endees.

PLACING SPONSORSHIPS ON HOLD

PHA understands that most companies require a formal review process before funding commitments can be made. When a

sponsor indicates interest in an opportunity that is offered as a sole sponsorship, PHA will place that item on hold for a maximum

of three weeks while the appropriate approvals are sought. A er three weeks, the sponsorship will be made available to other

interested par es if no final commitment can be made.

RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL

While most items are co‐sponsorships, for those sole‐sponsorship items,

Diamond‐level sponsors from PHA’s 2016 Interna onal PH Conference

and Scien fic Sessions can begin first reserva on rights on all sole‐

sponsorships for 2018 on day one of the right of first refusal process

Wednesday, November 1, 2017. Following that, Pla num‐level sponsors

can begin first reserva on rights on business day five. All others can begin

making their reserva ons for 2018 Conference sponsorship opportuni es

on business day ten. There will be a brief preview period prior to this

process where PHA will distribute the document for review and planning

purposes. At that me, PHA will designate “day one” of the right of first

refusal process. PHA will contact these companies with specific

instruc ons prior to the preview period.

The right of first refusal benefit will be con nued for Diamond and

Pla num sponsors of the 2018 Conference for sponsorship opportuni es

offered for the 2020 Conference. PHA reserves the right to change sole

sponsorships to co‐sponsorships (or vice versa) at its discre on.

AVAILABILITY OF SPONSORSHIPS

2016 Diamond and Pla num Sponsors will receive right of first refusal. 2018 Gold, Pla num, Silver Bronze and General Sponsors

will then be offered remaining sponsorships a er Right of First Refusal. Individual Items Sponsorships will become available to

those sponsoring less than $50,000 on January 14th, 2018.

Conference Opening Session and Video

The Conference Opening Session is the official kick‐off to PHA’s Interna onal Conference and sets the stage for the upcoming weekend of learning, sharing and networking. A key element of the Conference Opening is the accompanying Conference Opening Video, which energizes a endees and posi ons them to maximize their Conference experiences.

During the dinner, a member of PHA’s community will provide an update on recent medical news for the PH community.

Our vision is to make Conference accessible to the largest possible number of people affected by PH, including our Spanish speaking, as well as hearing impaired a endees. In 2016, we were pleased to offer simultaneous Spanish interpreta on for the Interna onal Leaders’ Summit. Many Spanish speaking par cipants appreciated the accessibility and we are eager to expand this program. For 2018, we will con nue the offering for Interna onal Leader’s Summit, and will further add simultaneous transla on during Conference Opening and all meal sessions. In addi on to the simultaneous interpreta on, we will provide a Spanish Quick Guide to sessions and the Agenda as well as signage.

In addi on, this year we will add sign language interpreta on for the deaf and hearing impaired during Conference Opening Session as well as all meal sessions. In 2016, we offered morning chair yoga sessions for a endees and, due to popular demand, we are bringing them back! The sessions offered will be geared for everyone regardless of age or ability/disability! Each session will be different and will include breathing techniques, yoga poses for anyone, and relaxa on techniques. Sessions will include a variety of poses that can be adapted to each student as needed by the yoga instructor. A endees will learn how to connect the breath to the movement, chair/

Fi h Interna onal Leaders’ Summit

$55,000 (co‐sponsorships)

The Interna onal Leaders’ Summit in 2016 brought together 51 PH associa on leaders from 32 na ons to par cipate in a day of peer‐to‐peer learning and networking. The popularity of the sessions is demonstrated by their con nuous growth since the first in 2010 when leaders from 12 na ons par cipated. Presenta ons at the 2016 Summit included discussions on media and legisla ve advocacy. From these invaluable connec ons, the global fight against PH is catalyzed. In 2018, PHA plans to unite representa ves of from a majority of the known worldwide associa ons. Global leaders will spend a pre‐Conference day addressing topics of shared priority including improved access to medica ons, early and accurate diagnosis, pa ent registries, and improved awareness at both the popula on and medical professional levels.

Conference Coffee Breaks

Conference a endees take advantage of the four coffee breaks offered throughout the weekend to renew old friendships and make new connec ons. Each of the four coffee breaks is available for sponsorship separately, including the Friday a ernoon, Saturday morning, Saturday a ernoon and Sunday morning breaks. All breaks will be set up in high traffic areas.

For 2018, special group Mixers will be offered as separate sponsorships. Five mixers will be offered: CTEPH Pa ents, long‐term survivors, young adults, men with PH and parents of pediatric pa ents (separate sponsorship in pediatric sec on). The Mixers provide an appealing opportunity for these groups to get together in a vibrant social atmosphere with light refreshments where they can make new connec ons and learn from each other’s shared experiences.

Fashion Show


One of Conference’s most loved and an cipated events, the Fashion Show gives

pa ents by giving them an opportunity to demonstrate how they cope with a life‐

threatening illness, normalize their lives, build confidence and self‐esteem and

The Conference registra on brochure is designed to create enthusiasm among community members as the event approaches and to give them all the informa on they need to register. Name Badge Holder and Pocket Conference Essen als

Scien fic Program Package


Scien fic Poster Session: Posters will be on display throughout the Conference with an unopposed Poster Viewing Session for Scien fic Sessions par cipants on Thursday evening. The call for abstracts includes areas of clinical science (including treatment), basic science and case studies; all accepted abstracts will be invited for poster presenta ons. More than 80 posters were presented in 2016.

Accredita on: PHA jointly provides CME/CE credit for Scien fic Sessions a endees, with accredited provider Professional Educa on Services Group, for those who a end the PH Clinical Sessions throughout Saturday and Sunday and those who a end Thursday evening’s poster presenta ons. Children’s Program/Kids’ Room


PHA will offer outside professional caregivers for the Kids’ Room to ensure the children at Conference have an amazing experience. Children of pa ents, young pa ent and/or their siblings, and children of a ending medical professionals are eligible to par cipate in this fun kid focused area specially designed just for them. Childcare service will be provided in the Kids’ Room for preschool‐aged children, and school‐aged children will benefit from supervised ac vi es and ou ngs. By contrac ng with a professional children’s caregiving service, our goal is to ensure the safety of par cipa ng children and that all ages are a ended to. All children enrolled in the Children’s Program will receive a special t‐shirt.

EXHIBITS GENERAL INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION

The exhibit hall at PHA’s 2018 Interna onal PH Conference and Scien fic Sessions is not your ordinary tradeshow. Exhibit hall visitors range from kids and adults with pulmonary hypertension to family members of pa ents to the world’s leading PH medical professionals. PHA encourages exhibitors to incorporate the vibrancy of Conference into their booth to make the exhibit hall a dynamic, fun and educa onal experience for par cipants of all ages and backgrounds.

All material should be unbranded and appropriate for a pa ent audience. Exhibi ng materials should not include product and drug therapy informa on or promo on of clinical trials. Exhibi ng representa ves may not promote or discuss therapies directly with pa ents and/or family members or discuss any disease‐specific informa on at the 2018 Conference. If collec ng any pa ent contact informa on, the purpose of the collec on must be disclosed (i.e. future promo onal mailings, promo onal emails, etc.).

EXHIBIT FEES AND SPACE ALLOCATION

Exhibit booths are available for $3,500 per booth for General sponsors and above, and $4,000 for Individual Item Sponsors or non‐sponsors. Each booth space is 10’x10’. Understanding that Sponsors o en desire a larger booth for a more interac ve and energe c exhibits we have increased the number of booths available for purchase for Bronze and above sponsors. Diamond sponsors may purchase up to eight booth spaces; Pla num sponsors may purchase up to seven booth spaces; Gold sponsors may purchase up to six booth spaces; Silver sponsors may purchase up to four booth spaces; Bronze sponsors may purchase up to three booth spaces. All other exhibi ng companies may purchase one booth space. PHA will assign exhibit booth space based on exhibitors’ sponsorship level, stated booth preference and booth availability. Booth spaces for non‐sponsors will be assigned on a first‐contracted/paid, first‐served basis following the assignment of space for all other sponsor companies.

Each booth space comes furnished with one 6’ skirted table, two chairs, a waste basket and an ID sign.
