THE GRIMMEST OF GRIMM TALES
Promoters Information
An anarchic re-telling of the Brothers Grimm’s lesser known tales, performing for the first time at the Brighton Fringe 2017
Touring Availability
After Brighton, the show will be looking to tour in late summer/autumn 2017. Subject to funding and industry
interest.
The Show
Did you know The Brothers Grimm collected together over 200 different stories?
Why do we only ever hear about Cinders and Snow White? Were the others to scary? Too gruesome? Or a bit
rubbish?
In this brand new family comedy with music and puppetry for ages 5+, The Story Squad introduce a whole new
cast of weird and wonderful Grimm's characters. Meet Godfather Death, Hans My Hedgehog and a deceased
chicken in an irreverent, comic quest to re-tell… THE GRIMMEST OF GRIMM TALES
Performed by an ensemble cast of four fantastic character actors the show takes on a strong storytelling
format, taking its comedy cue from a broad range of influences from Monty Python to Jackanory! Comedy,
clowning, stunning puppets, original music, rapping (yes – this show is soooo down wiv da kids!) and a lot of
barely organised chaos are the order of the day – if you’re looking for a show with something the whole family
will enjoy then you’ve come to the right place!

Fringe Review
"Witty staging... lots of charisma... quality storytelling" Three Weeks
Craig Walker (Fringe Fan and Dad)
It was fantastic! Very funny and enjoyable for my boys (5&7) and also for parents. I have seen so many of these kind of shows and they end up being really cringy but this was completely the opposite. Whatever the magic formula is for telling stories to kids without patronising them, these guys have got it and I think that's a really
special skill. I hope loads of folk come to see it. It deserves a bigger venue
