The Thales Bushmaster is ahighly mobile, ballistics, mine andimprovised explosive device (IED)blast resistant Protected Mobility

Vehicle (PMV). Bushmaster hasan established family of modular

armoured vehicles offering highlevels of protected mobility forcombat, combat support andcombat service support troopsacross a diverse range of missionpro les including troop movement,command and control, engineersupport and ambulance variants.

With over 400 units delivered to the Australian Defence Force and the Netherlands, Bushmaster is

operationally combat-proven, highlycapable and affordable, offeringgreatly enhanced protection,mobility, mission performance,reliability, mission exibility andoperational sustainability.

Bushmaster is unique with its fourcoil independent suspension system

that can move quickly over longdistances by road and manoeuvre atspeed across country. It has a highpower to weight ratio; sustained

highway speed of over 100 kmphfull-time four wheel drive; selectabledifferential locks front, centreand rear; high ground clearanceand wheel size combined with apush-button controlled central tireination system; critical angles foroff-road mobility; and optional run-at tire inserts to ensure mobility,even with damaged tyres.

Thales offers a range of programsupport, tailored to meet the exactrequirement of the customer andincludes administration of logisticsupport contracts, managementof logistic support arrangements,

and provision of user and technicaldocumentation for its entireeet. As required this may alsoinclude embedding Field ServiceRepresentatives into forwardplaced units, based on a high levelof major commercial off the shelfcomponents.

In theatre operational logisticsupport is provided via an extensiveglobal network of service centresand eld service representative.This support includes the supply ofmaintenance parts and provisionof on-site support, including 24/7echnical advice and engineeringsupport.

MOBILITY FLEXIBILITYSUPPORTABILITY

The Bushmaster’s large internal volume within its monocoque bodyhas open architecture that can beeasily adapted to meet multi-rolerequirements even in the eld.Externally Bushmaster’s FOV have

been designed with a modularapproach allowing reconguration,and simplicity of repair with highlevels of interchangeability between

variants.



Over 700 units have been ordered by the Australian Army in six variants:

Patrol Vehicle (Troop Carrier)

Command Vehicle

Assault Pioneer Vehicle

Ambulance

Direct Fire Support Weapons Vehicle

Mortar Variant.

The Bushmaster is a low risk solutionbacked by 250,000 km (156,000miles) of testing and based onMilitary off the Shelf (MOTS) vehicles.As a complete integrated system, itmeets US Department of DefenseTechnology Readiness Level 8.

Extensive testing and operational

experience has con rmed the vehiclecan operate in terrain ranging from

tropical areas to sandy deserts,mountainous jungles and alpineconditions including snow.

Bushmaster’s unique long-lifemonocoque armoured hull,combined with globally available andsustainable Commercial Off TheShelf (COTS) driveline components,result in high reliability andavailability; low operating cost permile; rapid maintenance includingreplacement of engine, transmissionand other driveline componentsin the eld; low lifecycle costs and

through life cost of ownership.
