You receive much of this information in September through:

• Caring & Safe Schools• Dress Code• Dance• Computer/Internet Use • Smoking• Code of Behaviour & Conduct• Health & Safety
The KCSS Prom is…..• A non-smoking event (no vaping as well)• Alcohol/drug free (before, during, after)
The KCSS Prom requires…..• Safe conduct• Appropriate clothing • Respectful behaviour & communication
***You and your parents have signed a form acknowledging these expectations***
In addition to school chaperones, the dance will be supported by:
• York Regional Police Officers• Security Company Staff• KCSS Staff
Report any concerns to the above adults
• Refrain from consuming alcohol and/or drugs
• Dress appropriately• Inform your guest of the expectations• Arrive on-time• Doors close at 7:00 PM• No re-entry
• Security will be checking purses and jackets before entry
• Check-in at the reception desk with your ticket
• Your ticket number must match the name registered for the ticket
• Students AND guests must present VALID PHOTO ID
• Cooperate with Security Company Staff, YRP and school staff
• Be mindful of your personal property• Conduct yourself in a respectful & mature
manner• Remain in the banquet hall• Contact your parents/guardians before
10:30 PM to pick you up NO LATER THAN 11:00 PM
• Do NOT engage in impaired driving either through alcohol and/or drugs
• Do NOT remain in the parking lot• Drive carefully

• According to Google Maps it takes 20-30 minutes to get there from here.
• Think about traffic & parking!!!
• Arrival time is 6:15 PM • Arrive with your cap and gown• Guests will proceed immediately into the
Grand Versailles Room• Graduates find the sign that indicates your
last name alpha and go to that area.
• You will receive a coloured card with your Marshalling Number
• Award recipients will have a yellow card as well. You must line up in the area indicated for award recipients
• Line up in numerical order in pairs as directed by staff to await entry into the Grand Versailles Room
• Platform party, special guests, and school staff will proceed when the music begins
• Grads will follow school staff in the processional
• File into seats as directed by the Marshalls, moving all the way along each row
• You must fill every seat and remain in numerical order
• Remain standing until the emcee directs you to be seated
• O Canada• Platform party introduced & speeches given• Special Awards presented• Diplomas presented in alphabetical order*• Valedictorian’s address – Roman Olynyk• Recessional
• Teacher Marshalls will guide you at appropriate points in the ceremony in preparation for receiving awards and diplomas
• Hand your card* to the reader, proceed onto the stage when directed
• Return to your original seat
• When directed by emcee, audience will stand
• You are required to remain at your seat until the end of the ceremony
• Platform party, special guests, staff, and graduates will recess in this order
• Refreshments will be available following the ceremony
• A photographer will be at the ceremony to take each of your pictures as you cross the stage and receive your diploma
• You may order a copy of this picture (free of charge) from the Edge Imaging website
• Seating is limited• 3 tickets are available for each graduate• Additional tickets may be requested through
the Main Office• Requests filled on first come, first serve• Tickets required for entry
• Please no valuables, bags, and/or purses• Please do not lose or fold your awards
cards– Information on these cards must be legible for
the readers
• Ensure you respond to email/letter coming out soon to your GAPPS account
• Students who have paid the grad fee will receive their gown on Friday, June 16th
• Tickets & a graduation brochure will be distributed at this time
• Flowers will be available for purchase
