Somwrita Nag

Somwrita is an undergraduate student of History at Presidency

University, Kolkata. She completed her schooling from St.

Joseph's Convent, Chandernagore. Her hometown is

Chandernagore. She strongly feels that despite having such a

wonderful history, Chandernagore never got the exposure it

deserves. She is extremely pleased that such a project has been

undertaken by Aishwarya Tipnis Architects and that she has

been able to involve herself in it. She hopes that the recognition

and publicity that has been long overdue for Chandernagore

will finally arrive upon the completion of this project

Mukulika Kashyopi

Mukulika has done her graduation in French (Honours) from

Chandannagar College. She feels that despite being a resident

of Chandernagore, she is not completely aware of the rich

heritage and history that this city has. As a contributor to this

project, she believes that she has been given a great

opportunity to know her city better. She wishes to highlight all

the nuances of Chandernagore's past, to the people of

Chandernagore and its well wishers, as a beautiful city and as a

former French colony.

Asmita Dey

Ashmita is a student of Ancient History, currently pursuing her

postgraduation at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She

belongs to an old family which has been based in Calcutta for

six generations (and counting). Rakshit Bhavan located in

Lalbagan, which is the residence of one of the most renowned

families of Chandernagore, is her father's maternal home and

birthplace. Thus, Chandernagore is very close to her heart as it

has played an important role through the twenty-one Durga

Pujas of her life. Being a part of this project gave her the

opportunity to salute Chandernagore for all the glory it holds
