    Mexico was the first Latin American member of the Organisation forEconomic Co-operation and Development OECD (since 1994), andconsidered an upper-middle income country by the World Bank.

    Mexico

    is considered a newly industrialized countryand an emerging power. It

    has the fourteenth largest nominal GDP and the tenth largest GDPby purchasing power parity. The economy is strongly linked to those ofits North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) partners, especiallythe United States of America.Mexico ranks sixth in the world and first inthe Americas by number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites with 32,andin 2010 was the tenth most visited country in the world with 22.5 millioninternational arrivals per year.

    According to Goldman Sachs, by 2050

    Mexico is expected to become the world's fifth largest economy.

    PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) estimated in January 2013 that by2050 Mexico could be the world's seventh largest economy.

    Mexico has

    membership in prominent institutions such as the UN, the WTO,the G20 and the Uniting for Consensus.

    MEXICO GDP

    The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Mexico was worth 1177.30 billion USdollars in 2012. The GDP value of Mexico represents 1.90 percent of the worldeconomy. GDP in Mexico is reported by the The World Bank Group. From 1960until 2012, Mexico GDP averaged 338.6 USD Billion reaching an all time high of1177.3 USD Billion in December of 2012 and a record low of 13.1 USD Billion inDecember of 1960. The gross domestic product (GDP) measures of nationalincome and output for a given country's economy. The gross domestic product(GDP) is equal to the total expenditures for all final goods and services producedwithin the country in a stipulated period of time.     Mexico Inflation Rate

    The inflation rate in Mexico was recorded at 3.76 percent in March of 2014. Inflation Rate

    in Mexico is reported by the Instituto Nacional de Estadstica y Geografa (INEGI).Inflation Rate in Mexico averaged 27.14 Percent from 1974 until 2014, reaching an alltime high of 179.73 Percent in February of 1988 and a record low of 2.91 Percent in

    November of 2005.

    Mexico Inflation Rate Decelerates in March

    Mexican annual consumer prices slowed for the second straight month to 3.76

    percent in March of 2014, down from 4.23 percent in February. The inflation is

    now below the central banks 4 percent limit. A year earlier, the inflation wasrecorded at 4.25 percent.Year-on-year, transport prices rose the most (7.9

    percent), followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.12 percent) and cost

    of restaurants and hotels (5.18 percent). From February to March, prices

    increased 0.27 percent, slightly faster than 0.25 percent in the previous month.

    The core index, which strips out some volatile food and energy prices, rose

    0.21 percent during the month.

    Mexico Unemployment Rate

    Unemployment Rate in Mexico increased to 4.80 percent in March of 2014

    from 4.65 percent in February of 2014. Unemployment Rate in Mexico isreported by the Instituto Nacional de Estadstica y Geografa (INEGI).

    Unemployment Rate in Mexico averaged 3.75 Percent from 1994 until 2014,

    reaching an all time high of 5.93 Percent in May of 2009 and a record low of

    2.22 Percent in March of 1997.

    Mexico Unemployment Rate Up to 4.8% in March

    Mexican unadjusted jobless rate rose to 4.8 percent in March of 2014, up from

    4.65 percent in February and 4.51 percent a year earlier. Upon seasonal

    adjustment, the unemployment rate rose to its highest in more than one year to

    5.25 percent. 95.2 percent of the economically active population was employed

    in March, but underemployment rose 0.28 percent on a seasonally adjusted

    basis in March from February, to 8.3 percent.The labor force participation rate

    was recorded at 58.81 percent in March, up from 57.83 percent a year

    earlier.Among regions, Tabasco recorded the highest jobless rate (6.71

    percent), followed by Coahuila de Zaragoza (6.36 percent), while Guerrero

    recorded the lowest one (2.04percent). In the Federal District, unemployment

    rate rose to 6.26 percent from 5.83 percent in February.
