Stakeholder ManagementBrain Writing – Data Gathering

Participants sit in a circle, facing inwards (6 - 8 people in a group).

Using index cards, team members thing of problems the team needs to solve and writes down one issue per card at the top.

After completion of the problem definition stage, cards are then passed one person to the left.

Each person reads the problem and writes what they believe to be a potential solution to the problem.

Cards are again passed to the left and the process continues until each participant received their cards back.

Each participant then reviews their cards and completes a readout with the rest of the team.

Stakeholder ManagementSalience Model

Power — This is the authority or influence a stakeholder has on your project and/or its objectives. It is determined by focusing on the stakeholder’s potential impact on your project or outcome. This power can be incentive, coercive, or utilitarian.

Legitimacy — This is the appropriateness of the stakeholder’s involvement in your project. It answers the question, should they be there?

Urgency — Does the stakeholders’ needs require immediate attention. How time sensitive are the requirements from the stakeholder, or how critical are the requirements.
