Vandeventer Ave. St. Louis, MO 63113 (314) 534-6015 www.visionforchildren.org Job Description Project LAUNCH: Behavioral Health Coordinator Project LAUNCH is a Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded program designed to promote the healthy development of young children through prescribed activities that advance the social, emotional, and behavioral health of young children within targeted communities. Vision for Children at Risk is leading initiative in St. Louis City, and our work is based on three key goals: 1. Improve coordination and collaboration across family and child serving systems. 2. Increase knowledge and behaviors of parents of children 0-8 on topics of early childhood development and community resources. 3. Increase capacity of child care and early child providers on topics of early childhood development. The population of focus is children 0-8 years of age, their parents/guardians, and professional caregivers throughout the City of St. Louis. Project LAUNCH is a 5-year initiative. Responsibilities: Enhance community awareness of the mental health needs of young children; Engage with primary care providers to integrate early child mental health supports within primary care settings; Advocate for and oversee the implementation of Triple P for families with Health Care Providers; Participate, coordinate, or conduct a variety of meetings, committees, trainings, workshops, and/or conferences in order to present materials and information concerning early childhood social and emotional development to parents, child care, mental health and health care providers, and the community at large; Arrange and/or facilitate opportunities for providers and families to help them develop and enhance skills that will enable them to understand and more effectively support the social and emotional development of all children, including those with behavioral health issues; Attend community meetings on behalf of Project LAUNCH to build relationships, coordinate services and generate/support referrals; Serve as a co-liaison (alongside the Education Coordinators) to St. Louis Public Schools, and oversee the implementation of mental health consultation (utilizing the CSEFEL model); Collaborate with the entire Project LAUNCH Team (including families) to develop and disperse a Public Awareness Campaign focused on reducing stigma around early childhood mental health; Support the work of the LEAP Ahead STL, an early childhood screening collaborative working to increase use of the ASQ tools and encourage use of data hub for communal tracking of data (unidentifiable); Support Project LAUNCH’s partnership with BHR as we work to build out a linkage and referral system for early childhood behavioral health needs. Assist with required federal reports, as directed by the Project Director; Assist in program implementation and reporting, as required by the Local Young Child Coordinator; and Other duties as assigned.

Job Description Project LAUNCH: Behavioral Health Coordinator

Project LAUNCH is a Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) funded program designed to promote the healthy development of young children through prescribed activities that advance the social, emotional, and behavioral health of young children within targeted communities. Experience/Skills: • Licensed professional in the field of psychology or clinical social work; • Knowledge of early childhood development across physical, mental, social, emotional and behavioral

domains and related service systems; • Knowledge of cultural issues within the target population and have a demonstrated history of successful

engagement with the population; • Five years of experience in providing social and emotional and/or mental health support to young

children and families; • Demonstrate ability to foster collaborative relationships; • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; • Independent and self-motivated, able to comply with and enforce deadlines; • Energetic team player;

• Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal supervision; • Results-oriented and solution-focused with a problem-solving attitude;

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; and • Ability to lift 30 pounds. Benefits: Benefits include company paid medical, dental, and vision coverage with a small employee copay. Accrue 2 weeks of vacation and additional sick time during the first year.
