A detailed written report (with photographic evidence) was compiled and presented to our customer, Cushman and Wakefield. This report highlighted the damage to and the poor condition of the existing roof sections and walls, also provided were budgets for the cost of refurbishment. The roof and wall areas were approximately 2000m 2 and were either damaged beyond repair or had fallen into a state of disrepair and were in need of replacement. Large projects such as this are a specialist work and can only be carried out by trained professionals, therefore we had to ensure the correct contractors were chosen for the tender process. COMMERCIAL SOLUTION Before any work could commence the roof and wall sections had to be completely stripped - leaving only the steel frame. Many of the structural steel supports were damaged in the fire so they had to be replaced before work could commence. Once all the existing roofing and cladding had been removed, work commenced on installing the new steel supports ready for the new R-MER Clad Roofing and Wall system. New gutters were also installed as part of the rebuild to ensure the system was completely waterproof. Due to the complexity of the project, our Garland Technical Manager (Dale Thomas) was on site between two and three times a week to ensure all roofing and cladding works were being installed to the correct specification so a 30 year Garland warranty could be issued on the successful completion of the project.
