Reason For Change: The original size of our
PCB we had listed in the project description
didn’t work with the design of the industrial
design (ID) students.

Description of Change:
The original size of our PCB was listed as 60x20x8 𝑚𝑚3. To make this work better with the
watch strap, we split the PCB into three boards. The boards consist of a Heart rate monitor board
(24.01x13.21x5 𝑚𝑚3), battery recharge board (26.42x16.38x5 𝑚𝑚3), and a
microcontroller/pebble interface board (31.93x17.83x5 𝑚𝑚3). This allows everything to fit
comfortably around the strap with the ID student’s design.

Board Test Procedures Heart Rate Monitor
Apply power and ground to the board
Check to make sure all places correctly have power or ground using test points
Connect the R9 0Ω resistor to connect MOSFET to the circuit
Without the MOSFET enabled, make sure the circuit is not drawing current
Connect R10 0Ω resistor to connect enable pin to MOSFET
Enable the MOSFET and make sure to check that the circuit powers
Using an oscilloscope make sure the output waveform correctly depicts a heart beat
Battery Regulation
Apply power and ground to the board
Check to make sure all places correctly have power or ground using test points
Attach battery while powered to make sure LED is lit properly
Using DMM make sure the charge current is at the correct level
Connect R5 a 0Ω resistor to connect the voltage regulator section
Check to make sure the output voltage is at the correct level of 3.3 volts
Check to make sure while charging, the USB is supplying power to the circuit instead of
battery
MCU
Apply power and ground to the board
Check to make sure all places correctly have power or ground using test points
Using DMM make sure there are no shorts on MCU pins
Using the JTAG add code to the MCU to make sure it is functional on development board
Interface with the Pebble to make sure information is correctly sent/received

Identified Errors Connections on the MCU board do not correctly match the connection pins of the Battery
Regulation board and Heart Rate Monitor board
