Partner:Centre Couleurs du Monde is a reception centre for asylum seekers managed by Belgian Red Cross. It can host upto 200 people who have asked for asylum in Belgium. Their stay in the centre is temporary and lasts until a decisionis taken regarding a possible refugee status.The centre provides such services as accommodation, food, medical and social counselling, schooling andeducational courses, cultural, sport events etc.One of the most important points is that the centre is open to the world, by promoting international exchanges withvolunteers from all over the world. That is the main purpose of the camp ¿ intercultural exchanges thanks to avoluntary project.To learn more about Red Cross Asylum seekers centre you can visit the following website http://www.croix-rouge.be/activites/asile-et-migration/nos-centres-d-accueil-pour-demandeurs-d-asile/This workcamp will be the 14th in the history of the Centre. Previous projects were successful and a source ofmotivation to continue to collaborate together.

Work:Two different tasks are planned: organisation of leisure activities for the kids (games, sports, DIY workshop¿) andthe creation and organisation of a final artistic exhibition. The local partner is waiting for your team to come withfresh ideas and to create a show with the residents, you could act, paint, film, dance¿ You will create this show alltogether and do an exhibition in the end of project at the Centre Couleurs du Monde.

Accomodation and food:Accommodation will be provided in the centre. Two bedrooms with 4 single beds (with shower and toilet). Smokingand drinking alcohol is strictly forbidden inside the centre.

Location and leisure:Rendeux is a countryside village that lies in the country's Walloon Region and Luxembourg Province and accountsup to 2,500 inhabitants. The village of Rendeux is located in the valley of the River Ourthe in an area which attractsmany visitors both for its natural beauty and for such nearby medieval villages as La Roche-en-Ardenne (11km) andDurbuy (18km). For more details, please, visit: www.rendeux.beThe closest train station is 8km away ¿ Melreux-Hotton (there is a bus, running till train station ¿ just 10minutes).Belgium is quite small and cosy country, most cities and nice places are easy reachable by train.Brussels is about 2h30 away from Rendeux.

Requirements:This project requests volunteers with a good level of motivation for its theme and who are prepared to integrate thelife of a refugee center. We recommend them to a have an idea about the policy concerning refugees in their owncountry.In order to demonstrate this, we ask the candidate volunteers: to send a short motivation letter to answer our specific questionnaire (if you do not have it yet, please ask it to your sending organization).We will not confirm any placement request before the analysis of these documents.
