Page 1: Project charter

Unit 66’s second and third learning outcomes:Be able to devise 3D ModelsBe able to create 3D Models following industry practice

Using the skills I have developed in using Newtek Lightwave’s Modeler in Task one, I have two weeks to conceive, design and produce a robotic sidekick that will need to be fully designed in terms of its appearance, function and character. I will firstly produce a design pack and then release this into a 3D Prototype. I will manage the project carefully through each stage of the production process. I have set up a schedule and a production log that I will review at least once a week. Tasks 3, 4 and 5 is where I will be demonstrating my ability to devise a 3D Model and Task 6 and 7 will allow me to show that I can create 3D Models following industry practice. Task 8 will be my evaluation which will be a good way of reflecting on how I have devised and created my character concept.

Unit 13’s fourth learning outcome:Be able to use project management techniques commonly used in the games industry

I will update my schedule and production log and study periods throughout the week and I will review them every Sunday and set myself new targets each time. These will need to be realistic and achievable. With my Evaluation, my schedule and my production log (and blog posts) will form the evidence of how I have project-managed the assignment. I should be able to work out wether or not I achieve my goals and those of the client. This will help me move on into the next assignment.
