Aim

Propose ballast specifications that discriminate better between materials and allow re-use of old ballast particles

Understand, simulate and model the effect of stoneblowing

Investigate the potential for in-situ stabilization

Simulate and model the water regime in ballast

Simulate and model ballast settlement

Objectives

To increase the efficiency of maintenance management and associated design.
