PRESENTATION OF PROJECT WORK PHASE 1

First Review

MATERIAL UNCERTAINTY AND COST EFFECTIVENESS OF THE COMMERICAL BUILDING

Page 2: Project 1

• One of the most common sets of activities in the management is planning.

• Creating the project plan is the first thing you should do when undertaking any kind of project.

• However , many people fail to realize the value of a plan in saving time, money, and many problems

* The project management techniques of planning and scheduling are tools and devices, which are used to compute the project.

SCHEDULE FOR PROJECT WORK

PHASE 1

* Literature Review , Floor Plan…

•Estimate of the work.

•To visit the site and to find deviation or uncertainty in the project.

•Planning and scheduling using primavera .

PHASE 2

•Planning and

scheduling

using primavera .

•To find duration by

using PERT method.

•Resource planning,

resource allocation and

resource leveling.

•Report preparation.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Knowledge- Based System for Construction Planning

of High- Rise Buildings, Ory Shaked and Abraham

Warszawsi (2001),J.Constr. Engg. Mgmt., the knowledge-

based expert system for construction planning is part of

an automated building realization a process. This paper

presents the principles of the system, explains the

structure of its knowledge and discusses various

implementations.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Estimating Resource Requirements at conceptual Design Stage

Using Neutral Networks ,Asharaf.M Elazouni, Ibrahim A. Nosair,

and Yousif A. Mohieldin (2001), construction conceptual

estimating models provide frame works for evaluating different

alternatives at the conceptual design stage.. The results indicated

can be used satisfactorily to estimate the construction resources

requirements at the conceptual design stage

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Optimal Allocation of construction Planning Resources,

J.Constr. Engfg and Mgmt., Tarek Hegazy (2002), Resource

allocation and leveling are among the top challenges in

project management. In this paper, improvements are

proposed to resource allocation

LITERATURE REVIEW:

• Schedule Analysis under the effect of Resources

Allocation , William IBBS and Long D. Nguyan (2007), the

construction industry has employed various schedule

analysis techniques to supply delay claims. The research

presented here shows that delay analysis without

resources allocation practice substantially affects results of

schedule analysis.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

• Managing Port folios of Projects Under Uncertainty, Annals of

Operations Research, Linda K.Nozick Mark A. Turnquist and

Ningxiong Xu (2004), Managers of projects and multi- project

programs often face considerable uncertainty in the duration and

outcomes of specific tasks as well as in the overall of resources

required by tasks. This paper presents optimizing the resources

allocations to individual tasks to minimize the completion times of a

collection of projects.

LITERATURE REVIEW:

Simulation – based optimization for dynamic resource

allocation, automation in construction, Olusegun O. Faniran,

Peter E.D.Love, and Heng Li (2001), Efficient allocation of

resources foe construction planning activities requires

construction planning resource requirements to be determined

on a cost- effective and value- adding basis. This study explored

the concept of optimal planning of construction projects.

Page 10: Project 1

* To understand the uncertainty.

* To select an ongoing projects, and find out the deviation

in scheduled.

* Allocate the limited available resources using primavera

software.

* To complete the project on scheduled date or to minimize

the delay.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Page 11: Project 1

• Task durations are subject to considerable uncertainty,

and that uncertainty can be influenced by resources

assigned.

• Due to the complexity of projects, resource allocation

and leveling are among the top challenges in project

management.

* The purpose of this study is to optimally allocate the

resources among individual tasks

NEED OF THE STUDY

Page 12: Project 1

* This thesis work covers the entire main civil

works of the commercial complex building.

* To plan and evaluate the resources for the

commercial complex building project

SCOPE OF THE WORK

Page 13: Project 1

FOCUS AREA

• Planning and scheduling for micro level activities.

• Resource calculation, which includes the different

categories of labors, material and machinery

• Resource leveling of labour resources.

Page 14: Project 1

WORK SCHEME

• Macro level are defined and also defined uncertainty.

• Based on macro level, the project completion dates

are to be calculated.• Macro level activities are divided into micro level.• Quantum of work in micro level activities.• Micro level activities using primavera software.

• Resource planning is done with the duration and

quantum of work found.• The resources are loaded for activities and leveled

that assigned resources
