remo+e the surcharge from 4egment-2 b$ the Last uwu8anuar$ th&s segment but t&'' 9anuar$

3st:202 the$ cou'd remo+e about ;5< of the surcharge of th&s segment wh&ch &n m$ o*&n&on &s+er$ s'ow cons&der&ng the *resent *os&t&on of the *roject work! The ground &m*ro+ement works

of segment- are *rogress&ng +er$ s'ow'$! The contractor (PBL) has started *'ac&ng surcharge &n

th&s segment ,from the m&dd'e of =o+:20 &n a +er$ s'ow rate . &t &s st&'' uncerta&n when th&s

segment w&'' be read$ for record&ng sett'ement!"n th&s connect&on &t &s ment&oned here that as *er dec&s&on of the *rogress meet&ng dated

05:2:20 the contractor (PBL) started *'ac&ng 4urcharge &n a Certa&n *ort&on of 4egment -(&n

7astern s&de) b$ d&rect-dredg&ng wh&ch was >'t&mate'$ found non-effect&+e from the 'ast week of9anuar$:202 the Contractor (PBL) has started *'ac&ng surcharge &n that are a'so fo''ow&ng

norma' *rocedure! s regards ground &m*ro+ement works of 4egment-2 &t &s stated that so far

P? ha+e been dr&+en &n ;5< area of th&s segment . *'ac&ng of 4urcharge has not $et started!But as *er 'atest re+&sed work schedu'e the Contractor (PBL) &s to com*'ete the *'acement of

4urcharge &n segment . 2 b$ 23-02-202 from wh&ch &t &s e+&dent that the contractor (PBL)

w&'' aga&n 'ag beh&nd the schedu'e &f no *rom*t act&on are taken &n th&s from now!

Construction of a certain portion of eep rain " fiing the pre-cast bracings+ - The

*rogresses of the dee*-dra&n work are a b&t sat&sfactor$! B$ th&s t&me the contractor (PBL) has

taken u* the work of down stream end of the dee*-dra&n (&nc'ud&ng the out fa'') wh&ch &s &n

*rogress! "n s*&te of re*eated re@uest for *'ac&ng *re-cast brac&ngs &n a *ort&on of the dee* dra&nnear B1'$-cu'+ert% PB-substat&on the same ha+e not $et been done b$ the contractor !An the

other hand% due to remo+a':sh&ft&ng of the e/&st&ng L&ght&ng masts:*o'es (that ha+e fa''en &n thedee*-dra&n a'&gnment) &n 4outhern s&de of the *roject b$ PB% the contractor (PBL) has started

the construct&on work of dee*-dra&n &n that *ort&on wh&ch &s *rogress&ng sat&sfactor&'$!

Prouction of inter-locking blocks ./Bs - The @ua'&t&es of "LBs regard&ng strength . surfacef&n&sh&ng ha+e &m*ro+ed to some e/tent . &t needs to be &m*ro+ed further! "t &s to be noted here

that &n s*&te of ga&n&ng re@u&s&te strength about 5<(#&fteen *ercent) of the "LBs &n each stack do



not conform to the good surface f&n&sh&ng as s*ec&f&ed &n the a**ro+ed s*ec&f&cat&on wh&ch w&''

be rejected at +ar&ous stages &nc'ud&ng dur&ng 'a$&ng at s&te! The concerned *ersonne' of PBL are

hereb$ re@uested to 'ook &nto the matters &mmed&ate'$! But the rate of *roduct&on *er da$ &s notso much sat&sfactor$ as $et! ?er$ often the *roduct&ons of "LBs rema&n sus*ended e&ther for

d&sorder of ach&ner&es:*'ants or for d&sru*t&on of current su**'$ . non-a+a&'ab&'&t$ of re@u&s&te

*rogress! B$ th&s t&me the$ ha+e com*'eted roof s'ab cast&ng work of the *ro*osed sub-stat&on bu&'d&ng . the ba'ance works are *rogress!

8ri)ing of :CC-Pre-Cast piles in <egment 1*+- The Contractor (PBL) ha+e a a'read$ dr&+en0 =os *&'e (0m 'ength each) for '&ght&ng mast . 0; =os *&'e (5m 'ength each) for 1T-

nchorage *ur*ose! The dr&+&ng records of the abo+e ment&oned 0 =os *&'e ha+e a'read$ been

sent for stud$ of B1TC-B>7T! An stud$ of the dr&+&ng records the re*resentat&+e of

B1TC%B>7T o*&ned that there ma$ not be re@u&red the Fstat&c 'oad tests of dr&+en *&'es ratherthe$ o*&ned for carr$&ng out the *u'' out testsG . ad+&sed the contractor on 2H-0-202 to subm&t

the methodo'og$ for carr$&ng out th&s test! But t&'' toda$ the contractor (PBL) d&d not subm&t the

same for a**ro+a' of B1TC% B>7T!

contractor (PBL) subm&tted a re+&sed work-schedu'e show&ng the *roject work to be com*'eted b$ 4e*temberI202 &n *'ace of arch:202 on 2H-0-202 there ha+e been a d&scuss&on meet&ng

w&th B1TC% B>7T!

"n haka % on th&s re+&sed work-schedu'e of the contractor (PBL) dur&ng d&scuss&ng the

re*resentat&+es of B1TC% B>7T ad+&sed to the t&me *er&od shown for *'acement . remo+a' of4urcharge &n +ar&ous segments reduce so that the ground &m*ro+ement works can be com*'eted

at the ear'&est!

"n th&s connect&on &t &s ment&oned here that the water su**'$ *os&t&on of the contractor at the

*roject s&te &s +er$ weak due to wh&ch the *ro*er cur&ng . conso'&dat&on works of d&fferent c&+&'

structures are be&ng ham*ered +er$ bad'$! "n order to cur+e th&s *rob'em the contractor (PBL) &shere b$ ad+&sed to go for s&nk&ng more dee* tubewe''s at s&te% fa&'&ng wh&ch the @ua'&t$ of works

ma$ not be ma&nta&ned *ro*er'$!
