ESSEX RIVER CRUISE

& WOODMAN’S RESTAURANT

Tuesday, August 23rd

Our first stop this morning is an early lunch at the

famous Woodman’s Restaurant where their claim to fame

is the ‘Fried Clam’. One hundred years ago Lawrence

‘Chubby’ Woodman came up with the idea to fry a clam

when business was slow and the rest is history. Five

generations later they are still frying clams but they also

serve a full menu of other seafood delights too. After our

early lunch we’ll be just minutes away from our leisurely

river cruise. We’ll have a 1 1/2 hour narrated tour on a

comfortable boat equipped with a canopy to protect us

from the sun as well as a restroom and bar.

Leave SS Center at 10am and return approx. 4pm

Cost: $42.00

Includes: Transportation and River Cruise ticket

(Lunch $ on your own, ice cream $ on your own)

schoolhouse and much more. There are two stores for our

shopping pleasure with old fashioned merchandise and

unique gifts. Half way through our day we’ll take a lunch

break at the Sandwich Shop and Ice Cream Parlor.

Attention antique car buffs! A highlight of our day will be

view the different points of interest from the bus in this

driving tour but we’ll have the option of getting a closer

look at a few of the landmarks as well. After our two hour

IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE @ THE LEDDY CENTER

Wednesday, November 2nd

We’ll jump start the holiday season with this classic stage

production that centers around the life of George Bailey.

He spends his entire life giving up his big dreams for the

good of his town, Bedford Falls, as we see in flashback. But

in the present, on Christmas Eve, he is broken and suicidal

over the misplacing of an $8000 loan and the machinations

of the evil millionaire, Mr. Potter. His guardian angel, Clar-

ence, falls to Earth, literally, and shows him how his town,

family, and friends would turn out if he had never been

born. George meant so much to so many people; should he

really throw it all away? We’ll have dinner after the show at

Telly’s Restaurant in Epping.
