FISHBOWL SESSIONS
Using a popular semi-structured engagement methodology, join John Huigen and his guests to explore topical issues and solutions that have real impact for Australians in the bush.
Day 1 | Wednesday 15 July 2015The digital revolution in remote Australia: Do you want the good news or the bad news?
It can be argued that remote and rural Australians will be more disrupted by technology than their big-city equivalents. More to gain. More to lose. We can choose. Or can we? (And is any of this actually true?)
This fishbowl session will generate lively discussion and maybe heated disagreement about the upsides and downsides of digital and technology disruption and its accelerator in Australia – the NBN. It will provoke thinking about how remote and rural Australians, organisations and businesses can maximise the ups and minimise the downs.
Day 2 | Thursday 16 July 2015No one escapes digital disruption
Software-based start-ups are changing traditional businesses all around the world. If businesses as solid as accommodation and taxis aren’t safe, then why should you be? The chances are that if you have not already begun to prepare for digital disruption, you may already be experiencing its impacts. But do you have the foresight, processes, skills and culture required to succeed in a digitally-shifting world? This fishbowl session will generate lively discussion on how to foresee and plan for digital disruption, to maximise the opportunities that are already here and prepare for those still to come.
