In this session you will get the opportunity to tap into the expertise of CAOs, Directors, and Senior Managers to share challenges, experiences, and successes. It’s an open forum to ask questions about and learn from your collegues successes and challenges in senior management. The questions and topics for the table discussions will be selected in advance by you. A survey prior to the summit will be shared for your input.

What differences do we make in our communities? Why is our community better due to the recreation and parks facilities, spaces and programs that are offered?

This session will challenge us all to define the difference we make through existing and potential new sources of information (data); a case that is especially important to make in times of austerity.

We will discuss what data is currently accessible, what data we need and how to best gather and analyze it. This presentation will also introduce, at a high level, what evaluative thinking means and how it could pertain to the ongoing provision of recreation and parks in a community. We will try to present data literacy and knowledge development in a similar way to physical literacy and LTAD where possible, to make it more approachable and relevant.
