Featured PerformersDel Rey - blues -- warm, wise,

witty and well-played.She started playing classical guitar

when she was four. As a teenager, she met bluesman Sam Chatmon who in-spired her to become a blues queen. Her guitar playing combines country blues, stride piano, classic jazz and hillbilly boogie through the sensibility of an autodidact trailor-park esthete. Her live show is full of complex guitar grooves and sly humor.

“Bored with the boys and their bottle-necks and bell brass blues guitars? Here is Del Rey: she plays acoustic blues, ragtime, sings, tells good stories, plays a metal-bodied resonator guitar & ukulele, dresses imaginatively, and is not a boy.”

Alexander Mitchell & BandAlex is an acoustic multi-instrumentalist who plays fiddle, mandolin, guitar and has a

beautiful singing voice!Alexander, born in

NYC, spent most of his childhood in the rolling hills of New Jersey and loves to spend time in the pine mountains of Upstate New York; he started playing fiddle in 1978 after hearing bluegrass music; since then he has been cultivating such diverse styles as appala-chian, bluegrass, celtic, klezmer, traditional roots dance music, ballroom, hot swing and jazz.

The band includes: Henry Koretsky, Matt Levine, and our own Frankie Stetner on bass.

“Alex Mitchell is one of those rare musicians who has a quick, intui-tive sense of both event and audience.” The band blends “a musical program that is consistently amazing and delightful.”

The Alexander Mitchell band & Friends will provide music for the Saturday evening dance. Ever Popular Paul Rosenberg will call the dance - a barn dance for all levels of experience. Dances are taught. Newcomers are invited as well as the most experienced. It’s just good fun for all - young and ageless. Most shops are on Front Street or Route 50 (Milton Ave.)

Featured PerformersDebra Cowan “is an emotionally power-

ful performer; just close your eyes and one of her ballads comes alive.” -- Dave Palmater, WUMB 91.9 FM, Boston, MA

Californian in origin and now settled in Massachu-setts, she has a very attractive voice (british under-statement :-), clean and true, with just a little vibrato; and that she can get inside a traditional American ballad with conviction, and tell the story convinc-ingly. To these ears, this is the material that suits her best, and she soars with it. --Edinburgh’s Ceilidh Culture The Wee Folk Club, The Royal Oak, Edinburgh

“Such is Cowan’s musical net that it can encom-pass various musical styles and traditions, from English singer/songwriter Richard Thompson to traditional whaling songs, to bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley, all done so skillfully that you beg to hear more” - NY Pinewoods folk club.

Jean Rohe with Liam Robinson “Ms. Rohe is a confident young singer whose compositions tend toward a literate and imploring tone.” -- Nate Chinen, New York Times, 9/4/08

As a youngster, Jean grew up singing and performing folk music with her family. She teaches music to youngsters in NYC and Liam is an emerging composer. - together they hit the mark for us.

Jean performed last year, with Liam, at the GottaGetGon new folks concert, and wowed us all. She has a wonderful voice and sings American traditional/familiar songs with conviction and, with Liam,

completes the performance with delightful interplay. Expect also some moving Brazilian songs.
