imaging centres in India. His private general practice is limited to Restorative, Maxillofacial Surgery and Endodontics with magnification

at Lathis Digital Dental Care, Pune. He is the co-founder of Digital Dental Implantology, which manufactures surgical guides for implants

with Cerec-Omnicam and software used for integrated dentistry. He is a national & international speaker and trainer for CBCT and has

conducted 100+ lectures and workshops in India and Southeast Asia for CBCT and Integrated Dentistry. He has educated and trained

more than 1000 dentists on CBCT and its applications across Southeast Asia. He is the Key Opinion Leader for Dentsply Sirona Imaging

for Southeast Asia. He is Assoc. Prof. at MA Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences, Pune.

1. Basic parameters of good image quality and understanding the importance of the same with respective specialities in dentistry.

2. Optimal computers and screens to study CBCT scans.

3. Keeping ALARA in centre stage discussing radiation hazards with CBCT and comparing it to intra-oral and Panoramic radiography.

4. American, European and Indian Academy of Maxillofacial Radiology guidelines for the patient and imaging protocol.

5. Handle CBCT data, share scans, DICOM formats and its importance in Integrated Dentistry.

6. Limitations in CBCT and tips to overcome them.

7. How to read CBCT scan images from various software, PDFs and recognising anatomical landmarks in the dento-maxillofacial region with CBCT.

8. Implant Planning on CBCT, from single tooth to Tilted implant used in All on 4 or pterygoid regions.

9. In Endodontics utilise 3D information to achieve good prognosis well before beginning of the treatment.

10. Presurgical site analysis, Assessment of Impacted teeth, third molars, Periodontics and avoiding last minute surprises and surgical complications.

11. Read Pathologies of the jaw and TMJ for early intervention and better prognosis.

Module I (3 hours) (4 lectures) b. Module1, Lecture 2.

R a d i a t i o n h a z a r d s a n d

radiation dose in CBCT.

• ALARA principle and

safe limit of radiation levels for

workers, staff and patients. We

understand the radiation hazards

and set protocols to minimize the

same in our CBCT practice zone.

CBCT machine room protocols

during installation.

Learning Objectives:

c. Module1, Lecture 3.

Patient and Imaging Protocols,

G u i d e l i n e s o f A m e r i c a n ,

European and Indian Academy

of Maxillofacial Radiology and

Handling of CBCT data.

• AAOMR,EADMFR and

IAOMR consensus, patient and

imaging protocols. Raw images,

archiving, exporting distribution

of CBCT data will be seen in detail.

a. Module1, Lecture1.

Radiation physics and quality

of X rays in CBCT, and basics of

CBCT machine.

• S t u d y t h e k e y

principles of X-ray generation,

the factors which contribute to

good x-ray production which

subsequently lead to optimum

image production. Details of

CBCT sensors , r e so lu t ion

parameters, computers and

screens to study CBCT images

and overall working of the

machine. Principles of CBCT

imaging.

d. Module1, Lecture 4.

Advantages and Limitations of

CBCT

• As we d iscuss the

strengths and hover around the

applications of CBCT in clinical

dentistry we understand the

limitations of CBCT. Tips and

tricks to minimize procedure and

inherent artifacts in CBCT.

Module II (1.5 hrs) (2 lectures)

• Module 2, Lecture1.

Anatomy to read CBCT

Anatomy related to extra oral imaging and

getting familiar with landmarks on CBCT so

as to interpret the image data set by the

dentist or dental specialists.

• Module2, Lecture2.

How to read CBCT data?

We understand the importance of pilot

images and all the three sections of CBCT

and its preference for case wise study.

Watch multiple videos of navigating in

software from opening up CBCT data

images, nerve marking and using the tools

in best capacity.

3D imaging in Endodontics

• A p p l i c a t i o n s o f C B C T i n

Endodontics and learning through multiple

cases the importance of CBCT to diagnose

cracked tooth, dental fractures, number

and configuration of canals and how CBCT

retreatment cases.

• Advanced software which

govern the endodontic cavity preparation,

and selection of taper systems for shaping

the roots.

• Learn from the joint position

statement on CBCT from AAE and AAOMR.

• The art of radiological report

writing for endodontic assessment cases.

• Three self-study cases (MB2,

Vertical Crack) will be shared with all the

participants.

Module III (2.5 hrs) (4 lectures) Module IV (2 hrs) (2 lecture)

Module V (3.5 hrs) (3 lectures)

• Interpreting the CBCT data for

assessment of

a. Presurgical site analysis.

b. Pathologies of the jaw.

c. TMJ assessment.

d. Periodontics.

e. The art of radiological report

writing for pathology, TMJ and impacted

teeth analysis.

Three self-study cases will be

shared with all the participants.

Benefits for Every participant

Implant planning with CBCT.

• Understand the basic principles of

implant planning on CBCT. Brief overview of

integration and making surgical guides for

implants.

We learn through different CBCT software

the implant planning stages like measuring

the bone volume, angulation, virtual

planning and deriving the bone quality/

density values.

• Case discussions and planning of

implants for single tooth, multiple missing

teeth in quadrant, edentulous arches and

gain confidence to plan cases like All on 4,

overdentures, full mouth implant planning,

pterygoid and zygomatic implants.

• The art of radiological report

writing for implant assessment cases.
