Welcome to the 39th annual Pembina Triangle sale. As we gear up for the 2019 fall sales run the excitement and enthusiasm is always at a high with this group of PTSA breeders.

There is always anticipation of the matings on the bred heifers to clip a sub-stantial coupon on their first calf. Also the opens deserve not to be overlooked. They are impressive and from the top cut of their pens.

As I tour through the respective pastures of each individual breeding opera-tion, they all have one common goal. That is to bring their top end females that are functional and right for the times.

The group of bred heifers on offer are as powerful as you will find. Females that have thickness yet maintain some style and are bred to some of the industry’s top sires.

The very select group of open heifers come right from the top end of each breeder’s respective pens. There are some show stoppers in here that could hit the show road and be very competitive.

I always find it interesting traveling around how many breeders point out and say I bought her at the PTSA sale. The sale has become very high on Sim-mental breeder’s lists as the place to Source high-quality breeding females that go on and work. The high rate of return customers will attest to this.

I would like to invite everyone to the 39th annual Pembina Triangle Simmental Association Sale. As you browse though the catalogue you will be sure to see the depth of quality that the members have consigned to the sale. My hat is off to the members for making such a commitment to a sale that has a long history of offering elite genetics to the Simmental industry. You may think these are just words but in the past few years alone, females purchased at this sale have gone out and produced some of the top selling bulls and females in industry leading sales. If you are a breeder looking to add some different genetics to your herd or a commercial producer wanting to add some top matrons to your program….. this is THE SALE to do it.

We always talk about the quality of the cattle at these sales, there is no doubt about that. I would encourage you to come to the sale not only for the cattle. The Members of this association are some of the best people you will come across in the industry -- down to earth, cattle people. I believe that the reason this is one of the longest standing associations in the country is that these good people work together for a common goal of creating an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie. To the members this sale is like an annual reunion as well as a place of mentorship for the new members. I encourage you to visit with the members as well as view the cattle sale day.

Welcome to this year`s edition of the Pembina Triangle Simmental Association`s Female Sale. We are so thankful for the group of fellow breeders within the association that we have the privilege of selling with. While this has been a challenging year in the Agriculture industry we are optimistic for the future.This year we start our line up off with 2 impressive long spined thick Full Fleck heifers from the top of our bred heifer pen. The purebred section of our offering is equally as strong and diverse, offering fancy, yet broody females from powerhouse cows that have made their mark in our program.All of the heifers were synchronized, and believed to be caught to the AI by our veterinarian. The pure-

He was the 2nd high seller in the Virginia Ranch bull sale. So far I am pleased with the results. I gave him 22 head for the 2019 breeding season. He held his condition on the pasture for the breeding season and has since been growing and adding muscle as he is maturing into a nice 2 year old.

Open.Gidget has been our top pick to sell at the sale this year as she has been one of our top red heifer calves this year. She is out of one of our top red female, WILC Tasha 9Z, which we purchased from Ernie when she was a calf. Welcome to the 39th Edition of the PTSA sale. It’s been an interesting year, with not enough rain all summer to way too much rain this fall. Harvest has been a battle and we’ve only just begun, as they say. We are always busy at PLCC, with grain, cattle, the seed business and kids activities - we are always in “go mode”. This group of heifers is a good representation of our herd. They are stylish, broody, fertile females that will be functional for their new owners. We bred over 200 females this spring and feel our herd improves each year with careful genetic selection. We have bred all of the heifers to our new herd sire that we purchased with Triple R Simmentals, Muirheads Triple Play 28E. The most profitable way to have calving ease and growth is to use short gestation bulls and females and Captain Blaze certainly gives us that. Her dam, 2921C, is a direct daughter of Doll 21P and she is by far one of the best in her class. Her first calf was a standout female that we decided to keep and she will have a bull in the bull pen with her first calf. This heifer, 2921F, is her second calf and she couldn’t be more easy fleshing and broody.
