Medical professionalism encompasses all of the aspects of the higher attributes of being a physician and a healer.

These attributes, however, are not universal; cultural differences exist (Cruess et al. 2010).

It appears that the ‘difference’ is greater when the context shares an ‘eastern culture’ than a ‘western’ culture.

This confirms the existence of cultural variations and context specificity of professionalism.
