PROFESSIONAL PROFILE - WENDY PINOS Wendy Pinos is the principal network architect at JasNET Consulting. Wendy is experienced in all aspects of network consulting, including network design and architecture, cost justification, project implementation and management, operations, network management, and problem isolation. As a seasoned consultant, Wendy is extremely knowledgeable in current and emerging technologies such as 10/100/1000BaseT, 10Gig Ethernet, VoIP, 802.11a/b/g wireless, and the cabling infrastructures required to support these technologies. With hands-on experience in routers, hubs, bridges, repeaters, gateways and various other network elements, Wendy adds a real-life perspective to her consulting work at clients. Wendy’s most recent projects include working with community colleges and K-12 schools in the San Francisco Bay Area on a variety of IT projects. Her largest project was the design and implementation of a ~10,000 outlet network infrastructure (WAN and LAN) for City College of San Francisco. She recently completed project managing the implementation of a 4000+ extension VOIP network at City College of San Francisco. She is currently engaged by the ITS department at an East Bay community college district for the preliminary planning of the network and server expansion for their recent bond approval. Wendy’s experience at West Valley-Mission Community College District include project management and technical implementation of the Network Refresh (2003/2004), Network optimization and documentation (2003), assisting with the design of the HP-UX server repurposing (2002), and Acting Operations Manager (2002). Since 1998, Wendy has also been engaged by the Los Altos School District to work with their architect and engineering teams in the modernization of multiple school sites, specifically the voice/data/video cabling infrastructure design, specification creation, contractor management, and construction acceptance. Wendy’s familiarity with the computer/network environments and operational challenges make her an ideal selection for working with Community Colleges on a variety of network and IS projects. Wendy’s clients are always impressed with her broad technical depth and her unique ability to apply the technologies to meet the clients’ business needs. Wendy has a natural talent in being able to communicate at all business levels, whether it is a business justification to the CIO, right down to the technical details with the implementation staff. Known as a “make- it-happen” person, Wendy can bring teams of external and internal resources together to commit expertise and resources for on-time delivery of projects. After the design and implementation, Wendy’s experience is often put to use in the structuring and selection of operations teams and processes. At one client, Wendy was engaged for over a year as the Network Operations Manager, to run an operations team supporting a 24x7 enterprise-wide network spanning the continental U.S. Achieving an averaged 97% uptime, while undergoing continuous expansion, Wendy was able to manage a very small support team that maintained outstanding performance and reliability for the mission-critical network communication services. Wendy has a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Masters of Science in Medical Science, both from the University of Toronto. To remain current, Wendy regularly attends profession seminars and certifications in network and security technologies. Wendy possesses the RCDD/OSP certification from BISCI and a variety of professional certifications from SANS, Cisco, Microsoft, and Proxim.
