HELMET / BAND MASK TECHNICIAN COURSE

The standard Helmet and Band Mask Technician Course covers KMDSI mainte-

nance, repair and overhaul procedures for all Kirby Morgan Helmets and Band

Masks. The course includes classroom theory and hands-on experience on all

KMDSI Helmets and 18/28 Band Masks.

This course allows those in the industry or those entering the industry to gain a

high level of training and understanding in the operation and maintenance of occu-

pational diving systems.

The course includes Kirby Morgan helmet and band mask, Interspiro AGA and OTS

Guardian full face mask certified technician training, servicing of first and second

stage regulators, high and low pressure compressors, air quality testing, flow test-

ing, diving umbilical and l.p/h.p hose servicing and testing, low and high pressure

panel testing and servicing and maintenance, and repair of diving communication

systems.

EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN COURSE

John Hott

John Hott is Director of Training for Ocean Technology Systems. After serving with the US Army in Military Intelligence, John spent 14 years in Law Enforcement—rising to the rank of Sergeant. With OTS, he is a member of the design team that developed the Guardian Full Face Mask and teaches the technician course for the GFFM. As Training Director, he has also certified over 1,800 Interspiro Ser-vice Technicians and conducts familiarization training on full-face masks and underwater communica-tions. John has been an avid diver since 1975, is a certified Dive Master, and carries certifications from YMCA, NAUI, TDI, and PADI. John has been with OTS for over 11 years.

Rocky Heikkinen Rocky is a Training Director at Dive Lab with over 30 years of experience in diving, military, commer-cial, technical, salvage operations and sport diving. Rocky has also served as Master Diver, Underwa-ter Construction school instructor, SCUBA instructor and as a Dive Equipment Technician/Instructor. Rocky is responsible for developing all technician training for Kirby Morgan commercial and military dive equipment. To date, he has trained over 1,400 military and civilian personnel in operations, use, and maintenance of Kirby Morgan and Dive Lab products and is specialized in training military and commercial organizations in maintenance procedures, operations, capabilities, and limitations of Kirby Morgan and Dive Lab products.

Jim Dyer

Jim Dyer has been training service technicians since 1980. Over the course of this time, he has repre-sented almost all brands in the sport diving industry and has also trained technicians in those brands. He has vast theoretical and practical experience in the evolution of Sport Diving regulators. Jim is also a qualified SSI instructor with a passionate love of underwater photography.
