Module 1 : Business Analytics Foundation

• Introduction to business analytics and data analytics tools

Module 1 comprises of foundation of business analytics along with familiarity with data analytics tools like R and SPSS. The participants will learn basic programs on finance and marketing with basic quantitative methods. While the program is designed for middle level managers, this module will go a long way in brushing up the fundamentals of analytical techniques in the context of your business. Moreover, the module will include data acquisition from different sources, data storage, data pre-processing, data visualizations, and writing algorithms in the context of business.

Module 2 : Business Analytics Techniques

Pre-requisites

Knowledge or familiarity with basic statistics, analytics and statistical software will be useful but not mandatory for the Program.

Pre-readings will be circulated and an introductory run on elementary concepts will be introduced in the initial sessions of this program. Participants are expected to go through the pre-reads and come prepared for the classes as instructed.

few years and has more than fifteen years of teaching and research experience.

Prof. Chowdhury is a strong education professional skilled in Statistical Modelling, Predictive Modelling, and Data Analytics having research interest in the area of Business Analytics,

Applied Statistics, and Statistical methods. Before joining IIMK, he was associated with ICRA Techno Analytics Ltd., Army Institute of Management, Kolkata,

Indian Institute of Management, Amritsar etc.

Professor Atanu is a Commonwealth Academic Fellow - London Business School, UK, Visiting Researcher to Syracuse University, USA, PhD (ICFAI University with one year visiting program at

Syracuse University, USA), MBA (Gold Medalist, University of Calcutta) and has done his BE from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur. Prof. Atanu Adhikari is Professor in the

area of Marketing Management at IIM Kozhikode.

PedagogyThe primary method of instruction will be through LIVE lectures that will be beamed online via Internet to student desktops/laptops or classrooms. The program will be delivered through a combination of methods as listed below.

Assessment & CertificationEvaluation methodology is the discretion of the faculty. The methodology includes online exams, case analysis, class contribution and any other component as decided by the faculty. A minimum of 75% attendance is a prerequisite for the successful completion of this program. The program may require participants to work on individual/group assignments and/or projects.

The main objective of such assignments/projects will be to help the participants apply their conceptual learning in the program to actual organizational decision making scenarios. The participantswill have to secure the minimum pass marks in the respective evaluation components. Participants who successfully complete the same and satisfy the requisite attendance criteria, will be awarded a certificate of completion. Participants who are unable to clear the evaluation criteria but have the requisite mandatory attendance, will be awarded a Participation certificate.
