Description of organisation
The Tebigy Kuwwat Social Unit Enterprise was
officiallyregistered in 2003, and it functions in accordance
withthe current legislation of Turkmenistan and the Stateprogrammes
on environment protection, sustainable
management ofnature resources and development ofarid zones.
Tebigy Kuwwat pays special attention to thedevelopment of actions
for decrease of the level of thenegative impact on arid ecosystems,
and also to wideintroduction of modern technologies of electricity
and
water supply in the rural areas.Tebigy Kuwwat functions under
the auspices of theNature Protection Society of Turkmenistan and
consistsof 25 members of the organisation managed by theboard of
seven members headed by chairman.

Potential spheres of co-operationSustainable land and water
management:The further development of irrigatedagriculture and
pastoral cattle-breedingdepends on the sustainable management
of
water resources and use of moderntechnologies of water
supply.Water resources. The general flow of theAmudarya, Murgab,
Tejen, Atrek and other
small rivers and springs comprises 25.3 km3of which about 93%
are the Amudarya Riverwaters. As a result of climate changes
thereduction of the river flow is forecasted.

nationaleconomy to climate changesDevelopment of new water-saving
technologies inagriculture
Analysis and estimation of greenhouse gases emissionsin the
power engineering, the oil and gas and theautomobile industries of
TurkmenistanMonitoring of the local water sources (wells,
ponds,imported water) for supply of rural settlements
Analysis and estimation of possible risks as a result offloods
along the Amudarya River.

Resume on the staff
The projects will be carried out by the grant staff in the field
ofenvironment protection, climate change, sustainable land andwater
management, biodiversity, combat desertification,economy, law,
renewable energy, seismology and chemistry.
The staff have accumulated great expertise in the projects
withthe UNDP, UNEP, UNESCO, TACIS, World Bank, ADB, IDBand others.
They have been gaining long-term experience atthe Institute of
Deserts, Flora & Fauna, Institute of SolarEnergy, Institute of
Geology, Institute of Seismology, Institute of
Chemistry and Project Institute of Water Supply, Service
Landresources, Universities. In order to realise projects
specialisedgroups of experts in different sciences with great
expertise andmodern trends awareness were established.
Whenimplementing projects the assistance of the key
organisations,
the local authorities and population is planned.
