2. Step 2
Refer previous tutorial to assemle the component . else follow these steps
1-file-new-manufacturing then click mold cavity2- Assemble the component as shown in the image

Once you assebled the component properly , you can click "silhoutte curve" and select the surface. You shouldselect all the full round surfaces as shown in the image

Image shows the selected surfaces, for complicated components you need to define the direction plane also

Now you need to create a parting surface from the created silhoutte curve using sweep feature as shown in theimage

You need to select that silhoutte curve and follow the steps as shown in the image and next you need to create asketch (sweeping profile)

Just create a straight line of required length as shown in the image. We should keep in mind that this surface shouldcut the work piece which we will create in coming steps

Create a workpiece using automatic workpiece as shown in the image (you can also refer previous tutorial )

That was a good overview of the process. One additional item, make use of the "Draft Analysis" tool before even goinginto mold design process:1. Select Draft Analysis and choose the model name in the model tree2. Select a plane parallel to your parting plane3. Turn off shading (ie, use hidden line mode) to see the part edges during the analysis4. Review the part. Any surface that is colored "white" has 0 draft and needs to be fixed.5. You are generally looking for a part with two color regions only. One side should be all blue (light and dark) and the

other should be all red (light and dark). You should not have any "islands" of color. The border between the two colors isyour parting edge.
Spending time reviewing with Draft analysis can save headaches in using the silhouette curve.
