Since 1957, Tecnatom is giving engineeringspecialized services to the Electric PowerGeneration Plants.Also Tecnatom extends these activities to anotherindustrial areas like Aerospace Sector.It's made up of highly qualified specialists with anextensive experience and dedicated spirit and apool of young people who interact with them toensure the continuity of the company as a greatteam.As an important part of our activities, the "SparesEngineering" complements the reliability andguarantee of a committed company.
HISTORY

This entails:
Disappearance of original manufactures andproduct lines (i.e. the manufacturer ofvalves Walthon Weir Pacific).Equipment installed that have reached thefinal life foreseen of design/qualification,before the end of plant useful life.
This causes:
Difficulty to find original equipment andspare parts in the market.Need to replace equipment at the end of itsuseful life by others with similar or betterfeatures.
Actions of Tecnatom in the supply of spare parts and related services
Due to bankrupt of valves manufacturerWalthon Weir Pacific (WWP), Tecnatom hasacquired the rights of the brand of valves"WWP" and "Valcontrol" to continue with thesupply of spare parts and valves towardelectric sector.
Tecnatom has an international agreementwith “Ringo Valvulas” for the supply of valvesand spare parts of the brands "WWP","Valcontrol" and "Ringo Valvulas“, and forservices related to the valves.
Moreover the valves, Tecnatom hasdeveloped new equipment and alternativespare parts to the originals and servicesrelated to the supplies.

Development of alternative spares to the originals.
We start from the necessities identified from thePlants.
Spares alternatives are generated throughcharacterization process and, if it is the case, alater validation, understanding by:
Characterization: Process of reverseengineering to get the complete definition ofthe characteristics of the spare, to assure thefulfilment of the requirements to can carry outits manufacture.
Validation: Process carried out to verify thecharacterized spare fulfils the applicablerequirements (it includes the qualificationprocess, if it applies).
Inclusion of latest generation materials (gettingin the most of the cases an improvement of theoriginal materials).

Nowadays, and for different reasons, there is an increasing problematic to gather safetyequipment and their spare parts in Nuclear Power Plants and other Industries.Tecnatom has implemented several actions focused to improve the equipment and spareparts availability, by means of supply of original equipment or developing spare parts andalternative equipment to the original already installed, or repairing equipment, or updatingobsolescence equipment.The actions developed until today, have contributed to the technical and economicalsuccess of the Plants.
