Fit adjustable bases with collars and layout roughly in position with theircorresponding ledgers. Pick the highestground level for a setting out point tosimplify later adjustment. It helps if thescrew jack is near (not at) the bottom ofthe thread by allowing maximumadjustment on lower ground levels.
Connect the ledgers to the rosette on thecollar of the adjustable base. DO NOTDRIVE HOME THE WEDGES AT THISSTAGE.
Using a spirit level, adjust the bases sothat the ledgers are horizontal. Accuracyin leveling at this stage eliminates theneed for further leveling and plumbing asthe scaffolding is erected.
Place two aluminum planks or four 255mm(10”) wide board in each bay spanningthe ledgers to square up the system.Move progressively round the base of thescaffolding. When squared and leveleddrive home the wedges.
When basing out is completed, the firststandards are positioned into the collarof the base.
Ledgers can now be placed at the requiredlevels.
Handrails is automatically positioned.
Planks are now moved up to this first lift,decking out fully if this is to be a workingplatform.
Fix diagonal braces across the face of thebays. Hammer wedges home.
The scaffolding is completed by addingledger midrails, handrails and toe boardson the working platform.

Speed of erection and dismantlingare possible because of themodularity of the system and anabsence of loose fittings, such asnuts, bolts or clamps. All pieces arepre-measured and pre-engineered. All of which cuts the labour costs considerably.
There exists minimal chance of error due to the “positive” lockjoints, pre-set modules, the lightweight factor of the componentsand the simple fact that one personwith one hammer can erect thesystem.

THE EIW TECHNICALADVANTAGE
EIW uses 70 ksi (482 MPA) hightensile steel. The key componentsof the system are the Rosette,Ledger and Brace Heads all ofwhich are robotically welded withstate of ar t machinery. RENOVATION/REHABILITATION
