ORnIlUxTHE SOLUTION FOR BIRD PROTECTION IS CLEAR

Researchers estimate that hundreds of millions of birds are killed each year in north America due to collisions with glass on human-built structures, making bird collisions one of the most significant causes of avian mortality globally.

With the understanding that birds are able to see light in the ultraviolet spectrum, bird-friendly glass innovator, Arnold Glas developed ORnIlUx bird protection glass. The glass has a patterned, UV-reflective coating making it visible to birds while remaining virtually transparent to the human eye.

ORnIlUx bird protection glass is available as laminated glass or energyefficient, double- or triple-glazed insulated units with an additional low-E or solar control coating that offers a bird-friendly glass without compromising thermal performance or light transmittance. ORnIlUx insulated and laminated units are available heat-strengthened or tempered.

ORnIlUx is tested with American Bird Conservancy’s industry-standard, tunnel test protocol and has achieved ABC’s “Effective” rating which indicates a minimum of a 70% avoidance score. SOlARlUx A-Series – One Building. Multiple color matched coatings. Exceptional energy efficiency.Appearance matters and must be balanced with performance!The SOlARlUx A-Series offers a choice of four high-performance, solar-reflective and low-emissivity glass products that can be paired in one building without compromising a color-matched glass façade. This concept enables the architect and façade planner to respond to the requirements of each orientation and level of a building while maintaining a uniform appearance. While one glass type is efficient for the south and east orientations of the building, a different glass type might be more ideal for the north and west orientations. But by using different glass products in one building, the requirements for all orientations can be met, and natural day lighting can be increased where necessary.

Arnold Glas DECOlITE spandrel glass is coated and/or enameled, monolithic toughened safety glass, harmoniously color-coordinated with our coatings. It is available in 6 mm and 8 mm thickness, as heat-soaked, toughened safety glass. It meets the requirements of ETAG 002 (European Technical Approval Guideline) with respect to the SG (structural glazing) adhesive, Dow Corning 993.
