T*AP Television Audio Processor

This creative toolset is based on the processing platform D*AP8 and designed to make your transition to loudness controlled broadcasting smooth and easy. With 8 processing channels, 3G SDI, Dolby® support and optional loudness logging features, the T*AP covers every requirement that the broadcaster needs.

Jünger Audio’s award-winning T*AP Televi-sion Audio Processor focuses on automatic and adaptive loudness management compli-ant with all current broadcast audio loudness recommendations including ITU.1770 Stan-dards (versions 1, 2 and 3) as well as recom-mended practices ATSC A/85 (2011/2013), ARIB TR-B32 Free TV OP-59, Portaria 354 and EBU R128.

Features

The T*AP features loudness control plus and dynamic range processing for up to eight channels of audio (4x2, or 5.1+2). Optional audio decoding and encoding (Dolby® E, or Dolby® Digital Plus, Dolby® Digital or AAC, HE-AAC v1/2) including metadata manage-ment are also provided, along with 5.1 down mix and up mix features and sophisticated fail over and voice over systems.

Dynamic range control and Level Magic™

Based on a unique multi-loop control prin-ciple, Jünger Audio’s LEVEL MAGIC™ algo-rithm offers adaptive wideband loudness control with exceptionally high audio quality and without any coloration, pumping, distor-tion or modulation effects.LEVEL MAGIC™ offers uncompromised loud-ness management by combining three major gain changing elements:

• Transient Processor• Adaptive AGC • Distortion-free true peak limiter

The adaptive dynamic section comes with an expander and upward compressor to cover an input dynamic range of 50dB!

Spectral Signature™

Jünger Audio’s Spectral Signature™ dyna-mic equalizer gives you a powerful creative tool to control the spectral balance of your program. Spectral Signature™ analyzes inco-ming audio and compares its spectral struc-ture with a predetermined “station sound” curve. This allows dynamic EQ corrections to be applied, if necessary, to give a consistent sound image. Spectral Signature™ is a T*AP standard feature.

System Integration

All system parameters are remotely acces-sible allowing the unit to be integrated and remotely controlled by broadcast control - or automation systems. This allows users to ap-ply individual processing to their programs, which is a key feature for well-managed loudness control.

Web configuration

A web interface also allows easy and intuitive set up and configuration anywhere in your network.

M*AP Monitoring Audio Processor

This ground-breaking tool combines an audio monitor controller with network-enabled loudness measurement features in one unit. It provides comprehensive quality control and loudness monitoring for anyone working in a broadcast production, post-production or playout environment

Loudness measurement

To check compliance of programs with your local loudness regulations the unit will analy-ze loudness and true peak levels from input signals and transfer the measurement data via Ethernet to an optional measurement and logging software anywhere in your network. These measurements can be triggered by automation systems via GPI’s or via network or even manually by buttons on the X*AP RM1 remote panel.The M*AP can also generate SNMP or GPI/O alarms in case pre-determined limits are ex-ceeded.

SDI Support

By incorporating up to two auto sensing 3G, HD or SD-SDI interfaces M*AP gives users access to 32 channels of SDI embedded au-dio. It is also possible to send deembedded programs to M*AP’s AES outputs to feed a third party equipment. The M*AP’s SDI board can also be used as an embedder, and comes with video and audio delay to com-pensate any latency between audio and vi-deo.

Loudness Logging

The optional Loudness Logger software, al-lows for long term program logging and ana-lysis.

Targeting quality control (QC) of surround (5.1/7.1) or stereo programs, M*AP is desig-ned for live monitoring and compliance mea-surements according to loudness standards and regulations including ITU.1770 Stan-dards (revisions 1, 2 and 3) as well as recom-mended practices ATSC A/85 (2011/2013), ARIB TR-B32, Free TV OP-59, Portaria 354 and EBU R128.

Monitoring controller

Alongside loudness measurements, M*AP also offers monitoring control features. It supports up to eight speakers to allow for A/B checking of stereo compatibility of a surround down mix through alternative spea-kers, as well as via L/R front speakers. A Dol-by® production toolset emulates the impact on Dolby® metadata on your audio stream and let you simulate the listener’s impression at home.

V*AP Voice Audio Processor

The V*AP system makes voice processing easy with no compromise in sound quality. It also provides all the flexibility you would expect from a Jünger Audio product.

Spectral Signature

With Spectral Signature™ dynamic EQ, you get a totally new creative tool that offers au-tomatic and dynamic EQ control to balance spectral differences of one specific voice. Spectral Signature™ analyzes incoming au-dio and compares the spectrum with indi-vidually predetermined voice “fingerprints”. This allows dynamic EQ corrections to be applied, if necessary, to give a consistent sound impression. Spectral Signature™ is a V*AP standard feature.

Integration and remote control

The V*AP offers interfaces that allow inte-gration in existing environments via an AES insert. Optional mic preamp interface boards for analog or digital microphones allow per-fect integration into your studio environment. Preset management can be arranged via net-work integration. The X*AP RM1 provides all the necessary features to control up to four units via hardware, while V*AP’s network in-tegration is designed to allow full integration into broadcast scheduling- and studio ma-nagement systems. With this feature preset changes can be carried out automatically ac-cording to your content schedule.

Voice processing

Primarily designed to apply individual pro-cessing to voice applications the two chan-nel V*AP toolset includes processing such as HP/LP filtering, dynamics section (including upward/downward compressor, expander/gate and soft limiter), full parametric EQ and de-essing. A dedicated voice leveler helps to integrate voice programs into loudness-based broadcasting. With an integrated voice over feature and dual true peak limiters it can even be used to mix a voice channel into the final program delivered via SDI. Ideally suited to radio stations and TV production voice over applications, this unit will make daily life easier and let you focus on content.
