With two configurable tool stations, the Optima V is a medium-format professional cutting plotter capable of: Cutting, Half cutting and Creasing; Drawing and Oscillating Cutting up to 20 mm (3/4”) in thickness.

The Optima V comes as standard with a camera for crop mark detection. This device, used in combination with optional software OptiCrop, can perform accurate contour cutting and creasing around pre printed media even with print-distorted materials.

Independent twin heads can be easily adjusted to various heights depending on the blade length and type. This ensures that you achieve the highest quality and cutting precision for all materials.

Vacuum table with reliable rotary vane pump. The Optima is fitted with multiple vacuum zones divided across the work surface combined with a robust fold-away button clamp system.

Work flow

The Ultra V is available in three sizes. The 150, 120 and 80 are supplied as standard with a multi positional stand. Equipped with an operating software, totally developed by Valiani, it releases the maximum operability with specific apps capable of speeding up the work flow.

Productivity

The Machine is equipped with a Plug & Play Interchangeable Head system. Powerful magnets allow to quickly hold cutting heads and work without any tools setup.

Cutting Capability. Manual blade depth adjustment with increments of just 0.1 mm (1/32”) provides much better quality control when working with various materials and thickness.

The button clamp system allows to trim your materials right to the edges, optimizing the full sheet. With soft rubber coating, the button clamps leave no marks on your material.

Vacuum table. Extremely reliable rotary vane vacuum pump (oil-free and air-cooled) working through a selection of four independent work areas.

Crop mark detection. High resolution camera for crop mark detection used in combination with the optional Opticrop software.

Cut, Score, Emboss & DrawOne machine, numerous possibilities

Blue 45° Bevel Cut (rear)It’s designed especially for cutting materials from the rear, or non-presentation side of the mat. Use this cutting head option when a delicate surface material may be damaged by one of the front surface bevel cutting heads, or when cutting very thick or dense mats up to 5 mm (3/16”) in thickness. The 45° rear surface head can also be used to cut foam board and V cut dense materials for bending.

Red 45° Bevel Cut (front)The 45° bevel head, as well as the 45° Blue, produces a wider, more dramatic bevel edge. This cutting head option works well on all mat types up to 2.3 mm (6-ply) in thickness, but is somewhat limited in its ability to cut very fine detail and small radius curves.

Yellow 90° Straight Cut (multi material)This cutting head is developed especially for cutting foam board, softer, thicker foam-core materials and corrugated cardboard up to 5 mm (3/16 inches) thick. Plastic (PVC) and hardboard (backing board) material can also be cut from 2mm to 3 mm (0.078 to 0.118 inches) thick. It also uses a wide glide pad instead of a roller to avoid indentation of the softer foam board surface.

Purple DebossingThe tool enables users of Valiani machines to create subtle debossing, decoration and accents. Any shape or design, including clip art, can be can be elegantly debossed into the material surface. Embellish your paper with endless possibilities by using V-Studio. The head, completely produced in aluminium, includes 3 different size of tips (diameter balls), allowing the user to realize various decorations.

White 90° Straight CutFor cutting either openings or sizing of mat board, up to 4.4mm (12 ply) thickness. Eliminates the sharp mat edges that can be difficult to handle when sized with a sharp bevel cut.

Green 40° Bevel Cut (front) This head offers the greatest versatility with regard to cut all standard openings, shapes, double mats, detailed font and overall utility. Excellent cut quality from V-grooves and foil mats up to 2.3 mm (6-ply) . Ideal tool to cut polymer plate for inline varnishing and spot/flood coating.

Grey 90° Straight Cut (included with all Ultra machines)Originally designed for vacuum series, it is also suitable for all computerized machines. Thanks to the round and extra wide steel and Teflon feet, it guarantees a wider cutting footprint and superior accuracy on thin and thick/hard material (max 5mm/3,16”). In combination with a vacuum series it allows the machine to cut to the edge of the material without any conflict with the pneumatic clamping system.

Chosen as the Art and Framing Industry Awards 2008 ‘Innovation of the Year’, these heads are retained and positioned to the cutting head assembly by means of several small, yet powerful magnets, which make locking fasteners and hardware unnecessary. A specialised wedge-fork tool is supplied that makes removal of each head easy, safe and fast in under 15 seconds. Each tool head is colour-coded and numbered to help simplify recognition at a glance.

Combined with the unique Valiani interchangeable cutting head system, all the computerized Cutting Machines will greatly expand your creativity and your productivity. Features:Increased precision with all pen types; new conical-tip pen holders keep the writing instrument’s point accurately centered. This results in more repeatable line concentricity, especially when changing pen types and colours on the same design. Three colour-coded barrel-holder sizes combined with three tip-holder types allow much greater flexibility in pen size and type selection. Two-point pen holder design increases stability during drawing, particularly with sharp changes in line direction. Packaging ToolsMake the most of your Valiani cutting machineThe Packaging Tools set, consists of one head with 9 wheels of various geometry, which have been developed for the packaging market or for those who need to die cut flat board, flute board, corrugated board and polypropylene. This tools enables you to create boxes, folders, mockups and any other job that needs creasing or serrated cuts.

The various wheels can be exchanged on the head without tools and in seconds, therefore limiting delay during the working process.

OptiCrop is the easy to use software, conceived by Valiani, to perform Contour Cut on pre-printed image. The software used in combination with ImageCut provides you with diagram to preview your contour cuts. This preview will even assist you in searching registration marks and export the artwork into your machine correctly.

What is Opticrop?

The machine mounted camera can read registration marks and detect the position of cuts on the machine’s table. OptiCrop has an advanced feature to allow you the redrawing of the artwork according to the print skew. This feature always ensures the maximum precision when performing the contour cuts.

Hardware and Software

Contour Cutting involves placing an outline around an object and makes the machine cut it.

What is the Contour Cutting?

OptiCrop works with .SVG files, and is totally compatible with Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw.

Which file does it take?

Since OptiCrop works with vector files, it is possible to set-up plotting process using different pen colors on you art work. Using a black line the software will import the object as a cut. This feature also recognizes different colors and allows the user to set-up on V-Studio halftones color.

m3 Packaging Creator is an advanced software application specifically designed for the Valiani cutting machines. It is structured to deliver the capability to produce packaging, display cases and other cardboard based 3D objects. The m3 Packaging Creator is a comprehensive software application that helps end users not only provide more services, but reduce production time and wastage.

The m3 library of resizable designs contains designs of corrugated containers and folding carton boxes that conform to the FEFCO and ECMA standards, as well as to own standards. The values of the parameters - for example, box height, side length, material thickness - can be altered so that new packaging can be created. The design is then automatically calculated and the relations between the various parts of the design are kept by the packaging software. The m3 library of resizable designs contains more than 500 ready-to-use standards of corrugated board, folding carton or inverted corrugated board (ICB) packages.

m3 Packaging Creator is fully integrated with Valiani V-Studio, allowing users to edit any designs, customize them and finally export to the V-Studio with cutting commands intact. From version 5, there is ‘instant cut’ with a dedicated Valiani button.
