EXCEPTIONAL STRENGTH AND BINDING FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE Sterlitech Cellulose Acetate membrane filters are composed of pure cellulose acetate that is internally supported by an inert polyester web. This web gives each filter exceptional strength to prevent cracking, tearing, breaking and distortion when handled or creased. The resulting membrane has dimensional stability that can withstand autoclaving or steam sterilizing leaving the membrane unaffected in temperatures up to 135°C (274°F). The exceptional dimensional strength and low binding characteristics of Sterlitech Cellulose Acetate provide higher throughputs than competitive offerings and reduce the amount of filter changes needed during proteinaceous solution filtering. Its uniform pore size and consistent flow rates ensure reliable performance for use in enzyme loading and latex bead entrapment assay formats or as a pre-filter. Glass Fiber Membranes Glass fiber filters can be used to extend the life of a final filter as a prefilter or they can be used alone for low cost sample clarification. The filters are available with or without binders. Binders are used to increase the strength of the membrane and also reduce media migration. Binder-free membranes are able to withstand higher temperatures. FEATURES AND BENEFITS

• Type GC-50 meets the requirements for suspended solids testing, as described in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater, current edition.

• Reduce filtration costs and premature clogging when filtering difficult-to-filter or highly contaminated solutions.

• Extend filter life and make fewer final filter changes with high capacity prefilters.

• Eliminate sample contamination. Binder-free borosilicate glass fiber has no added extractables.

• Filter a wide range of particulate loads and viscous solutions with a selection of filter thicknesses to choose from.

• Excellent wet strength for each handling and filter integrity.

APPLICATIONS

• Use as a prefilter to extend membrane life

• Water/air pollution analysis • Liquid clarification • Cell harvesting

CONSISTENT UNIFORMITY TO IMPROVE CONTROL AND PERFORMANCE Produced through a proprietary manufacturing process, Sterlitech Nitrocellulose MCE meets rigorous quality standards throughout every step of production. This process ensures the membrane has a uniform pore structure and consistent thickness and cosmetic characteristics. This membrane is cast from a high-quality, nitrocellulose polymer. Its thickness can be controlled to plus or minus 10 microns to accommodate various applications. Sterlitech Nitrocellulose MCE is easily blocked giving a very low background. This aids in the detection of low-level analysis and makes this membrane ideal for use in lateral flow assays and dot/slot blotting. The large/consistent pore structure promotes fast wick rates and ensures rapid test results in diagnostic kit applications. VERSATILE CAPABILITIES, CONSISTENT PERFORMANCE Produced through a proprietary manufacturing process, Sterlitech Nylon membrane meets rigorous quality standards throughout every step of production. This process generates consistent lot-to-lot binding among the membranes ensuring product uniformity. Sterlitech Nylon membrane is internally supported with an inert, internal polyester support web giving it added dimensional strength and stability that prevents cracking, tearing, curling and breaking. This added strength and durability is advantageous during usage that involves aggressive handling or automated equipment. A naturally hydrophilic membrane, Sterlitech Nylon membrane does not require wetting agents that can interfere with biological processes. Additionally, its high surface area successfully immobilizes antigens, antibodies and other proteins. The resulting membrane has a void volume of 70-85 percent for high diffusion and low-flow resistance.
