Cable Sheath CutterSpecially engineered for professional stripping of the outer sheath of Low/Medium/High Voltage cables having a minimum outer diameter of 25mm (for round cutting only) and outer sheath thickness up to 5mm. This robust sheath removal tool has a reversible cutting blade, when one end is blunt, the blade is turned and the other end can be used.

For cutting and removal of the outer sheath of low voltage cable

This tool was specially developed for safe and easy circumferential and longitudinal cutting

The longitudinal section can be cut without risk of injury due to the ratchet system.

Colour coded, easy exchangeable plastic rings limit the cutting depth in 0.5mm steps from 0.5mm up to 5mm

Shaver – for Bonded Semi Conductive ScreenDesigned to remove the vulcanised semi conductive layer from cross-wired polyethylene (XLPE) MV cables with diameters from 10 to 52mm.

Two universal tools for the removal of the semi-conductive layer (bonded-vulcanised type) on medium/high voltage XPLE insulated cables. The tools are equipped with a spring-loaded sliding block, which compensates for oval shaped cables. The tool stops shaving when it reaches a selected stop point on the cable.The cutting blade is designed in such a way to ensure a smooth finish without irregularities.

The tool has been designed for easy usage. To begin shaving just position the tool at the point where you want to start, adjust the depth of cut and then move the tool around the cable using the handle

The stripping operation can be started from the cable end (approx. 25mm of screen will not be stripped) or from an intermediate point (approx. 4mm of screen will not be stripped)

A small handle activates and de-activates the axial advancing

A pin indicates the direction of advancement

The tool guarantees a smooth finish without irregularities after shaving and guarantees a high quality chamfered edge ready for jointing

The tool can be used on cables from 10 to 52mm diameter

The depth of cut is adjustable from 0 to 1.5mm in steps of 0.1 mm without the need of additional tools and can also be limited or locked

The minimum blade hardness is 55HRc and is easily replaced by using a 3mm Allen key

Operational down to -10°C

The tool comprises of a T-handle (with a built in length adjustment mechanism) various interchangeable stripping inserts for different voltages and cross sections (see table below) additional size available on request

The connection between the T-handle and the stripping insert is by means of a bayonet cap, therefore there is no need for additional tooling

The tool is designed for single handed operation and allows simple and accurate stripping of cables

The stripping length can be adjusted in 2mm steps from 20 to 100mm by means of the screw housed in the handle. The chosen stripping length is visible on a scale in the body of the handle

Each stripping insert contains a cutting blade designed and positioned to strip easily and precisely the EPR or XLPE and the semi-conductive layer in contact with the core. The insulation is removed without damaging the core

Once the stripping operation is complete, the surface is uniform, and the length cut away is corresponding to the chosen stripping length on the scale previously set (tolerance+/- 2mm)

The minimum blade hardness is 50HRc

The stripping operation can also be carried out at low temperature (-I0°C)

Stripping Tool for Peelable Semi Conductive Screen Designed for the removal of peelable semi-conductive screen on cold stripping MV and HV cables.

The set is comprised of the tool itself, a stop-clamp and lOOg tube of silicone paste in a plastic case

The tool is safe and easy to use and allows the stripping of semi-conductive layer in different shapes: round stripping, longitudinal stripping and spiral stripping. To facilitate the different operations of positioning, stripping, rotating and removing, the tool is provided with suitable holding points

The direction of the cutting blade (indicated by an arrow) can be adjusted also when the stop-clamp has already been fixed onto the cable

The tool is suitable for cables having diameters from 16 to 41mm

The incision depth can be adjusted from 0 to 0.9mm with 0.1mm steps without the need for additional tooling (max. incision 2mm)

The minimum blade hardness is 52HRc

The blade can be replaced, using a screwdriver. After replacement the position of the incision depth can be adjusted without need of tooling

The start of the longitudinal incision can be done in exact correspondence with the circumferential one

Electrical Switchboard Rubber MattingDESCRIPTION

Electrically resistant Switchboard Rubber Matting is manufactured from a high quality rubber compound to the most exacting standards. It is an essential safety product designed to protect life where there is exposure to live conductors.

APPLICATIONS

Permanent insulation to prevent danger from shock to persons employed in the generation, transformation, distribution or use of electrical energy. Switchboard Rubber Safety Matting is the recommended safety floor covering for switchboards, sub-stations, transformers, generators and electrical work benches. In temporary applications portable electrical rubber safety mats should be used.

SERVICE INFORMATION

The normal grade is suitable for most applications but special compounds are available for oil and acid resistance. If joins are unavoidable when laying Switchboard rubber safety matting the pieces should butt together with no gaps between.

Rubber safety matting shall have a minimum width of 900mm to accord with the Regulations concerning the minimum width of a working platform or passageway associated with a switchboard on which there are exposed live conductors (for voltages up to 650). If the Regulations do not apply the same width is recommended.

It is stressed that switchboard rubber safety matting should not afford the sole means of protection* for those working on electrical circuits and wherever possible further adequate precautions should be taken against the risk of shock and short-circuit.

New - HV electrical safety rubber matting (IEC 61111) available working voltages 17kV up to 36kV. This matting is flame retardant, acid and oil resistant and supplied in 10m rolls as standard (longer lengths on request) - order references in table below.
