Issue: Incorrect Product Installed.
• Incorrect product installed – drawings were not provided to
evaluate.
• Galintel T-Bar installed when product not engineered/specified.
• Uneven load not considered.
• Opening impacted by concrete slab on internal leg.
• Control joints impacting load.
• Refer to enginer & remove & replace with engineered solution -
fabricated beam.

• No evidence of props being used.
• Props removed before mortar fully cured, this sometimes occurs
due to other trades pulling props out to gain access & not

• Galintel MR T-Bar 200x200x9 installed with no mortar bond as
required for composite design.
• Inspection highlighted no mortar on base & back of brickwork in
contact with steel as per Galintel load tables.
• No evidence of propping &/or removal of props before curing
exacerbated the problem.

• Product should have been supplied in HDG finish minimum or
with approved top coat system – 2 part epoxy applied off site.

• Project in aggressive environment including south facing with
constant wetting from salt spray.
• Product required to be HDG product with 2 part epoxy coating at
minimum R4 durability.
• Pictures indicate that rendering trapped salt deposites on
surface that when wet rapidly & aggressively attacked the
surface coating causing rust staining & damage.
