Vertishores are the quickest, simplest and safest way to shore a trench.
Shore Hire’s Aluminium Vertishores are the quickest and easiest method to shore a trench in cohesive soils. Installed usually by one person from beside the top of the trench, the trench can be safely shored up while the excavator can continue to dig. Various length rails allow trenches to be shored to over 3.0m in depth, while a choice of extension spacers will provide widths in excess of 2.7m. Installation is carried out using the installation tool and hydraulic hand pump. By using a system of 3 Vertishores, a trench up to 2.4m in length can be safely shored in minutes.

Soil Arching
Soil Arching is created by the hydraulic pressure from the Vertishore rams creating “fingers” of pressure into the surrounding soil. These fingers produce a “Soil Arching” effect which prevents the soil collapsing into the excavation.

Aluminium Shoring Shields
Features
• Lightweight
• Small excavators and rubber-tyred backhoes
• Adjustable steel speed struts
• Foam-filled, high yield, aluminium panels
• Smoothwall panels reduces friction for removal
• High under-strut clearance
Our Aluminium Shoring Shields are designed to safely and effectively support trenches when using smaller excavators.
Aluminium Smoothwall Shoring Shields are an innovative new development incorporating the many benefits of traditional aluminium shoring with the solid wall security of high strength extruded aluminium sections.
Due to their lightweight and robust design, the Aluminium Smoothwall Shoring Shield system is ideal for municipal maintenance, small utility installations and pipeline repairs. A backhoe or small excavator can handle the Aluminium Smoothwall Shoring Shields, so the savings for contractors is another advantage over heavier steel trench boxes.
The static speed struts allow for easy width adjustments, and the heavy-duty lifting eyes assist in easy installation and removal.

Trench Boxes provide a secure method of safety for your workforce in excavations.
Our 3M Trench Box range covers requirements for lightweight steel shoring for smaller excavators with the 3M-30 unit, while the heavy-duty 3M-60 model is designed with superior strength for use in deeper excavations with larger machines. A wide variety of widths can be accommodated up to 4 metres internal using our fixed pipe struts, which are robust and simple to use.
Varying depths are accommodated by adding an upper extension unit connected to the base unit via the connectors which are pinned from the inside of the panels.
The knife edge panels allow for dig and push installations in sandy conditions, and the foam filled sections resist water infiltration inside panels.
The Shore 3M Trench Boxes are designed to safely and effectively support trenches up to any depth, provided that the working load limit of 30kPa or 60kPa is not exceeded.

Shore 4M Trench Boxes
The 4M-60 Series Trench Box can be handled by mid range excavators. These boxes are economical and ideal for general construction and utilities contractors.
The Shore 4M-60 Trench Box is our most commonly used unit, and is designed to safely and effectively support trenches up to any depth, provided that the working load limit of 60kPa is not exceeded. Widths of up to 4.0m internal can be achieved with the heavy-duty pipe struts. The solid struts enable the 4M-60 Trench Box to be used
as a dig and push trench box in bad soil conditions or as a drag box in cohesive soil types. Top extension units of 1.5m enable quick installation to full depth of shoring in all ground conditions. The panel sections are foam filled to limit water and soil infiltration, which can minimise weight gain in wet soil conditions.
The 4M-60 Trench Box also allows the use of Shore Hire’s high clearance arch spreader system, which gives the advantage of greater clearance under the lower strut, for the installation of large diameter pipes and culverts.

GT24 BEAMPROPPING
APPLICATIONThe GT 24 Is classified according to Prefabricated Timber Formwork Beams EN 13377:2002 (D) in girder class L 24.
It is used as formwork girders and also in propping beam applications, catchment decks etc.
The GT 24 is used for constructing wall formwork elements. It serves to support the form lining which has direct contact to the fresh concrete during concreting. It transfers the loads from the fresh concrete pressure to the steel walers which support it on the side opposite the form lining. The GT 24 and steel waler areconnected by means of hook straps.
The GT 24 is used as a main beam with support provided by a crosshead or claw head, or directly through the head plate of a slab prop. It is also used as asecondary beam for transferring slab loads into the main beam. In both cases the GT 24 must project 163 mm over the axis of the beam to be supported.
In addition, the GT 24 is also used for stop ends at slab edges as well as for special forms.

GT24 BEAMPROPPING
Handling Damaged GirdersDue to its low weight, the GT 24 is basically moved, assembled and dismantled by hand. No damage occurs through the use of machinery. Damage could occur ifthe GT 24 falls to the ground from a great height or is shortened by means of a saw. The GT 24 is to be inspected before every use for signs of damage and, ifnecessary, taken out of service.
Storage
The GT 24 is stored in a horizontal position: chord on chord or chord on web. The entire surface is to be supported in order to avoid any distortionoccurring.
CATCHMENT DECK FLOOR JOIST SUPPORT
Typical Site ApplicationsThe GT24 beam can be applied for many uses in construction. The more common uses include being used to form catchment decks and also tosupport timber joists. Examples of these uses are conveyed below:
Due to it's light weight, the GT24 beam is generally used in conjunction with Shore Hire's range of light weight aluminium titan props and applicable accessoriesincluding the titan U-Head and titan frame. However, the beams are adaptable and flexible and can be utilised with a broad range of other propping gear andassociated accessories.

Trishores
Support heavy loads at considerable heights. The working load limit given is for a free standing prop without intermediate bracing. Prop load rating can be increased by providing adequate bracing at intermediate points (to be calculated by a qualified engineer). To be effective, the bracing must be in two directions, preferably at right angles. In every case, some cross bracing is essential for erection and stabilising against any lateral force. Bracing is to be correctly fitted to Australian Standards requirements.

Shore 100 Shore 100
A versatile propping solution that can be used in conjunction with Shore 1000.
Shore 100 can be used for propping temporary works, formwork raking shores, facade retention, wall support and can easily be assembled into beams of varying length. Shore 100 props are an ideal solution for high loads in both vertical and horizontal applications.
Adjustment is at the end unit which means that the prop always remains in the strongest orientation and allows ease of cross bracing in multiple prop applications.

Shore 100 – Vertical Shore 100
Number of Intermediate Beams Required
The Vertical working load limit capacity chart is based on the following principles of design:
• A Shore 100 jack is positioned at the base and both ends are laterally restrained
• The working load limit values are the limit state design capacity values divided by a load factor of 1.5
• An eccentricity of axial load of L/200 has been applied around the minor axis
• All assembly bolts are fully tensioned
• Intermediate capacities for various effective lengths can be interpolated from the chart
Note: For design parameters outside the above scope, consultation should be made with Shore Hire Engineering Services.

Shore 100 Jacks
Jacks (left and right hand) have been developed for use in shoring applications. These heavy-duty jacks convert the Shore 100 to a vertical or raking shore. Rotating the vertical soldier in either direction extends or contracts the overall length of the shore. One silver and one gold is required per assembly.

Shore 100 – Accessories
The working load limit capacity table for raking applications of various angles is based on the following principles of design:
• A universal tilt base and jack are positioned at both ends and are laterally restrained
• The working load limit values are the limit state design capacity values divided by a load factor of 1.5
• An eccentricity of axial load of L/200 has been applied around the minor axis
• All assembly bolts are fully tensioned
• The effective length of the raking prop is to be taken as the linear measurement between the universal tilt base pins at both ends
• Raking prop is aligned such that bending due to gravity is about the major axis. Refer to picture below for guidance
• For effective lengths greater than 8600mm, it is recommended that the props should be used for wind loading applications only
Intermediate capacities for other effective lengths can be interpolated from the table. For design parameters outside the above scope, consultation should be made with Shore Hire Engineering Services.

The Vertical working load limit capacity chart is based on the following principles of design:
• A Shore 400 jack is positioned at the base and both ends are laterally restrained
• The working load limit values are the limit state design capacity values divided by a load factor of 1.5
• An eccentricity of axial load of L/200 has been applied around the minor axis
• All assembly bolts are fully tensioned
• Intermediate capacities for various effective lengths can be interpolated from the chart

Robust construction and galvanised, the Shore 1000 is built tough.
Shore 1000
A heavy-duty propping system designed for high loads.
The main strength of this system is its rigid and robust construction and versatility which make it ideally suited for heavy-duty back propping, temporary bridge propping, heavy-duty towers and falsework.
Shore 1000 can be configured for a huge variety of applications.
Shore 1000 can be used in conjunction with Shore 100. This allows a wide variety of towers and centres of props to be designed using the Shore 1000, Shore 400 and Shore 100 minimising the need for fabricated structures.

The Vertical working load limit capacity chart is based on the following principles of design:
• Shore 1000 jack is positioned at the base and both ends are laterally restrained
• The working load limit values are the limit state design capacity values divided by a load factor of 1.5
• An eccentricity of axial load of L/200 has been applied around the minor axis
• All assembly bolts are fully tensioned
• Intermediate capacities for various effective lengths can be interpolated from the chart
Note: For design parameters outside the above scope, consultation
should be made with Shore Hire Engineering Services.
