Our face drilling rigs are used for blast

hole drilling in underground mining and

construction applications. The small and

medium rigs are equipped with up to two

booms, covering cross sections from 6 m2

to 104 m2. We offer rigs with our reliable

Direct Control System, DCS, or with the

computerized Rig Control System, RCS, to

which different levels of automation may

be added. An extensive range of rock

Our face drilling rigs are used for blast hole drilling in underground tunneling and

mining applications. The large and extra large rigs are equipped with up to four booms,

covering cross sections from 16 m2 to 206 m2. We offer rigs with our reliable Direct

Control System, DCS, or with the computerized Rig Control System, RCS, to which

different levels of automation may be added. An extensive range of rock drills are

available from 16 kW to 40 kW of impact power.

Our long-hole drilling rigs are used for

production drilling in underground mining

applications. With a variety of feed lengths,

positioning configurations, rock drills, and

an extensive options program, we offer the

optimum long-hole drilling rig for every

application. The computerized Rig Control

System, RCS, offers different levels of

Today, it’s becoming more and more viable to go deep

in search for minerals, and with it the need to find ore

with a minimum of excavation. The deeper drilling puts

higher demand on safety and productivity. The Diamec™

range of drill rigs offers just the safe and user-friendly

solutions needed, along with the latest in exploration

technology and productivity. For instance the Automatic

Performance Control (APC) provides ergonomic and

productive solutions such as automatic drilling of

complete run with pre-set drilling parameters, automatic

rod running and wire-line and in-pumping and lot more.

A comprehensive range of exploration rigs

The Diamec range comprises of four main core drilling

rig models. From the smallest, the Diamec 232 for

drilling shallow holes in confined spaces, to the Diamec

U8, a powerful rig for really deep drilling, Diamec rigs

cover a vast range of demands. All models are available

with skids, some are also available with crawlers or

underground wheeled carrier for improved maneuverability

and increased productivity in drilling operation.

rOCk bOlting rigs

oFFering a PerFect machine For every aPPlication

Our rock bolting rigs are used for rock bolting in mining and tunneling

applications. Our range includes models suitable for roof heights

from 1.6 to 13 meters. Features include a screen handling arm for

installation of wire mesh, the computerized Rig Control System (RCS)

for positioning, drilling and bolting, and the COP 1132 and COP 1435

hydraulic rock drills which are specially designed for bolt-hole

drilling. Other features are Automatic Resin Injection, Automatic

Cement System, Bolt Plan Navigation and Lift and Tilt Cabin.

The Boltec M and E are also available in combination versions with

both electrical hydraulic and diesel hydraulic operation for drilling

and bolting. Having this option increases the flexibility and mobility

of the bolting rig to be able to work in areas where there is no

electrical infrastructure. Drilling and bolting can be carried out on

diesel power alone.

CAble bOlting rigs

handle three oPerations with only one rig

Our Cabletec LC rig is a fully mechanized rig for long-hole drilling and cable bolting

in underground mining applications. Its unique two-boom concept makes it possible

for a single operator to drill and install cable simultaneously. The rig is capable of

installing cable bolts with lengths up to 25 meters. Its computerized Rig Control System,

RCS, includes functions such as one-hole automatics for high productivity and fully

adjustable drill parameters for optimal drill quality and drill steel economy.

Cabletec UV2 is a fully mechanized cable bolter for fast and efficient reinforcement and

stabilization of ceilings and hanging walls. It’s built on the robust UV2 carrier and has a

small turning radius for high maneuverability in narrow drifts.

Since its’ introduction 30 years ago, the Swellex

rock bolting system has become a standard in

mines and tunnels around the world. As mine

and tunnel safety requirements have become

more stringent, the Swellex rock bolting system

became a preferred alternative, offering an

of continuous improvement we have refined

and expanded the Swellex program. Today,

Pre-support increases stability

The pipe roof support method not only increases the stability

of the tunnel itself as well as the working face, but it also

significantly decreases the subsidence induced by the excavation.

The popularity of this pre-support method has led to many

different names. You might recognize it as Umbrella, Tube

Umbrella, Pipe Canopy or Fore Poling.

In implementing the method, steel pipes are installed ahead

of the tunnel face arranged like an umbrella or canopy around

the excavation line. The umbrella stabilizes and protects the

ceiling and face of the tunnel by increasing the load bearing

capacity of the ground. Thanks to the rigidity of the steel pipes,

distribution of loads will be improved and the critical spot will

be moved further ahead of the working face.

The Unigrout range consists of five families, each family

designed to meet the different workplace conditions,

grouting techniques, capacity and pressure requirements,

level of automation etc.

unigrout Max – the advanced high performance

grouting system

Unigrout Max is the largest self-portable grouting unit on the

market aimed for the more demanding projects. Built with a

minimum of two mixers, it is designed to operate with

several grout lines simultaneously. It can produce up to 10

cubic meters of grout per hour. The Unigrout Max is often

found in tunnelling where pre excavation grouting is required.

unigrout smart – the grouting system with a brain

Unigrout Smart combines a more compact system with

automation that gives it a large versatility and high

capacity. They are often found in tunnel works such as

pre excavation grouting, consolidation grouting and in

dam works for curtain grouting. At surface in high

demanding micro piles and tie back anchoring the

Unigrout Smart is the best choice. It can produce up to

5 cubic meters of grout per hour.

unigrout flex – the flexible grouting system

Unigrout Flex is the workhorse of the family, and truly

matches its name. There are three different models that

can produce up to 1,5-2 cubic meters of grout per hour.

They are usually found on micro piling, self-drilling hollow

bars, water ingress control, hole cementation, soil nailing,

casing grouting but also in dam operations.

unigrout Miniflex – the lightweight grouting system

This is the most compact and lightweight Unigrout. The

little platform is easy to transport by pickup and Miniflex

is ideal for grouting pipe roofing, grouting Rebar bolts,

contact grouting, TBM and other confined areas. They are

ideal for sub-contractors that grout occasionally or need

to move to other sites quickly and easily. Miniflex can

produce up to 1-1.5 cubic meters of grout per hour.

unigrout Maiac – the grouting pump

Unigrout Maiac is a small pump that can easily be moved

around on the working site to fill the holes or cavities that

needs grout. The included 20 meter injection hose makes

it easy to reach the holes. The pump is successfully used

around the world in tunnel construction, civil engineering,

mining, slope and hill sides.

Our range of raiseboring machines includes models for both

conventional raise and boxhole boring as well as down reaming and

it covers diameters from 0,5 m up to 6 m. The machines are used in

both civil engineering and mining applications for drilling shafts for

ventilation, drainage, ore passes, back fills, hoisting, slotholes, and

penstocks for hydro power plants. Features include drill pipe hand ling

for easy and safe pipe handling as well as the computerized Rig

Control System, RCS, which improves drilling accuracy, equipment

reliability, and serviceability.

Working in environments without access to pure water is a common problem in mining.

We offer a cooling system for Raiseboring machines which eliminates the need for

external cooling water. The company has developed an independent cooling system that

can solve the heat problem without the need of a separate clean water source.

The closed loop cooling system is a stand-alone unit that can be easily adapted to the

old and new Robbins machines. The unit comes prepared from the factory to fit the

existing hydraulic unit. The cooler is connected to the hydraulic system by hoses fitted

with quick connections.

Used to excavate raises where there is limited or no access to the upper level. Here,

the machine is set up at the lower level and a full diameter raise is bored upward. While

boring upward, stabilizers are periodically added to the drillstring to reduce oscillation

and bending stresses. The cuttings are carried by gravity down the hole, and are deflected

from the machine and removed at the lower level.

Muck chute

To prevent the cuttings from covering the machine as they fall down the bored raise,

a muck collector is installed between the bored hole and the machine.

stabilizers

To centralize and prevent side loading of the drillstring, rotating or nonrotating stabilizers

are installed on even spacing. The rotating stabilizer is of a simple design that works

well in low load applications. It is bolted onto the wrench flats on the drillstring. The

nonrotating stabilizer consists of a special drill pipe with four arms mounted on a bearing

bushing. This design runs quieter and can be more heavily loaded.

Transporters are used for getting the derrick

to and from the boring site. Additionally the

transporters are equipped with hydraulic

cylinders for derrick erection during system

setup and derrick take-down after completion

of the raise. We offer different types of

transporters to suit different needs.

Diesel crawler

The diesel powered crawler is equipped with integrally suspended twin crawler tracks,

separately powered by hydraulic motors. The diesel engine drives two hydraulic pumps,

one for the tracks, and one for the fan/erection. The track drives are driven by a variable

displacement pump and controlled by two proportional valves, each valve controlling a

dual displacement motor, which in turn are mounted to planetary-type final drive units.

Air crawler

The air crawler is equipped with twin crawler tracks, integrally suspended and separately

powered by a hydraulic motor in each track with dual displacement, mounted to planetary-

type final drive units. The hydraulic pump is driven by an air motor. In order to operate,

the crawler must be supplied with compressed air at max. 6 bar (90 PSI) and minimum

15 m3/min (500 ft3/min) air supply. The air motor also drives a hydraulic pump for

powering the erection system. There is also an air-driven 24 V generator on the crawler

for supply of its electric circuits. The erection system comprises two proportionally

controlled hydraulic cylinders. Controls are either radio remote or via an umbilical cord.

The sled is the simplest form of transporter. Skids are provided on the sled to enable the

derrick to be transported and positioned by use of an independent mine transport source.

The hydraulic erection cylinders connects to a small electrical power pack for erection

and take down of the derrick.

We also offer a variety of COP hydraulic rock drills for all underground applications, with

an output power ranging from 6 to 40 kW.

Our range of trucks for underground mining and tunneling applications

includes models with tramming capacities of 20 to 60 metric tonnes. Our Minetruck

trucks have a high power-to-weight ratio for good speed on steep grades.

One of the newer trucks in the portfolio, Minetruck MT42, has a computerized Rig

Control System, RCS. It provides operational information to the operator as well

as it service information and diagnostics. The trucks are specifically designed for

underground use, whether to be loaded by a Scooptram, a chute or a continuous

loader, for long or for short haul. These high performing trucks are designed with

focus on safety, reliability, operator comfort and serviceability in mind. The high

power to weight ratio give good speed in the ramp resulting in high productivity

Our underground diesel hydrodynamic (DHD) and hydrostatic (D) locomotives are

made of well-known, CE-marked and factory tested components and built for the tough-

est conditions. They are available in a range from 6 to 45 tonnes of robust steel with a

compact chassis running on a small track gauge with a tight turning radius to fit narrow

drifts. The GIA Locomotives can be customized for special requirements. For example

a Remote cabin can be installed on the rolling stock to improve safety and visibility, and

the locomotives can also be combined in a tandem solution to increase the capacity.

A locomotive can pull ten times its own weight on flat ground, but it’s capacity changes

for each degree of slope which, together with several other factors, must be taken into

consideration when buying locomotives. Each locomotive offer is therefore based on an

advanced calculation to ensure that the customer gets the right equipment, with the right

capacity for the specific application.

Our Simba long hole production drill rigs using tele-

remote system leads the way with improved safety,

productivity and running cost. The system enables one or

several operators to monitor and control one or several

rigs. Never before have so much production drilling been

performed, with as high precision and safety ever!

From a comfortable, safe remote location, the operator

monitors the production drill rig in automatic mode and

can also manually control and adjust the positioning and

drilling functions if needed. The operator control the drill

rig from the same type of operating panel and monitor

found in the cabin of the drill rig. This reduces the operator

learning time drastically.

To be able to control and adjust the positioning and drilling

functions, pan-tilt-zoom cameras are used on the rig,

giving good visibility over the drilling operation for the

drill rig’s at the same time. The control station enables

connection to the rig through a mobile communication

package or through the infrastructure set up by the mine.

Scooptram RRC - Radio Remote Control for line-of-sight operations, offers an effective

way of operating inside stopes and areas exposed to risks of falling rock. By standing

in a safe distance, the operator can continue to muck until the stope is empty, thereby

getting maximum ore recovery. Additionally, for narrow stopes, all mucking can be

carried out along the ore body, which means that costly cross cut development in waste

rock can be reduced.

Our Scooptram RRC is an easy to use and reliable system, designed for our Scooptram

Our high pressure ventilation system fans have been specially designed

to effectively supply tunnel and mine projects with air through very long

ducts. The fans are unique in that they combine high efficiency with a

low noise level. Along with our flexible ducting, they form a complete

ventilation system that has been tried and tested with excellent result

in hundreds of installations.

Our ventilation system has flexible ducting made of durable woven

polyester fabric with PVC coating. All the parts can be easily connected

using steel rings or zippers. The result is a tight, light-weight system

that is easy to install, repair and extend.

greatest return on their investment, Our Service offers a

simulator to aid in operator training. Our simulators are

carefully designed using the latest technology, to imitate

and reproduce real life situations in rigs. Simulator train-

ing covers everything from safety and start up procedures

to drilling, tramming, drill plan handling and positioning.

This simulator can also be purchased with an integrated

operator training program, The Master Driller program.

This program is divided into three levels and covers

E-learning courses, simulator training and on rig training.

The simulators are available as a complete cab, or in a

light version (which is smaller and more compact) only

containing the controls, the operator seat and monitor.
