HEAT TREATMENT UNITS
IntroductionOffered at 50kVA or 70kVA, with or without built-in individual programmers, our Heat Treatment Units provide power to electrical resistance heaters (at 65v which is split into 6 individual heating circuits to enable the individual temperature control of each circuit.
Operational MethodsThe units with the individual programmers (MZ0100 and MZ0500) have 3 operational methods of heat control; fully-integrated individual programmers, an external Automatic Programmer (AP0100) for all channels, and individual proportional Energy Regulators (ER0100).
The units without individual programmers (MZ0200 and MZ0600) have 2 operational methods of heat control; an external Automatic Programmer (AP0100 for all channels, and individual proportional Energy Regulators (ER0100.
Flexible Ceramic Pad HeatersThe 50kVA units are sufficient for 3 Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters per channel, while the 70kVA units are sufficient f or 4 Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters per channel.
MobilityAll units are fully-mobile so are suitable for both site or fabrication shop use.

TEMPERATURE RECORDERS
IntroductionThe 12-channel CHINO-Type E Series Temperature Recorder has a recording range of 0°C to 1200°C. It is available in 110v or 220v (Product Codes E0101 and E0102 respectively.
The units are compatible with Type K thermocouple compensating lead connections and have an internal light fitting to illuminate both the scale and chart recordings.
Protective CasesSpecially designed to protect the analogue CHINO-Type E Series Temperature Recorders, our lightweight protective case is sturdy and durable.
Made out of aluminium with a padded foam lining, the CHINO-Type E Series Temperature Recorders can be easily accessed to view both the front of the recorder (for data review and the back (for connections.
Temperature Recorder Accessories Chart paper books, ink bottles and ink pad cases are all available to be used in conjunction with CHINO-type recorders. We also have chart paper for SEKONIC-type recorders as well as for YOKOGAWA-type recorders (B9627AY. Visit our Temperature Recorder Accessories section for more details.

IntroductionAccessories and spares are essential for the temperature recording process to ensure this is carried out in a smooth and timely fashion.
Chart PaperWe offer chart paper for 3 different types of temperature recorders:• Both the SEKONIC (CP0100) and CHINO
(CP0200) have a temperature recordingrange of 0°C to 1200°C. Each book ofchart paper is 20m in length.
• The YOKOGAWA - B9627AY (CP0300)has a temperature recording range of 0°Cto 100°C. Each book of chart paper is 30min length.
InkOur set of 25ml ink bottles (IK0200) comes with 12 different colours: Green, Blue, Sky Blue, Grey, Brownish Green, Brown, Violet, Purple, Red, Orange, Black and Scarlet.
Our ink is suitable for any type of temperature recorder.

Automatic Programmer Our Automatic 6-channel Programmer (AP0100) provides accurate temperature control - a vital part of the heat treatment process. The rate of heating above a start temperature, soak temperature, and time and rate of cooling down to an end temperature are all precisely controlled.
Thermocouple Attachment UnitThis portable unit (WU0100) for Type K welds approximately 450 applications before the battery requires recharging via a 110v or 220v source (the voltage is adjustable). The integrated shoulder-strap enables easy carrying.
Mini Thermocouple Attachment UnitWelding approximately 250 applications before requiring new AA alkaline batteries, this highly portable unit (WU0200) includes a low battery level light. With a removable shoulder strap, this unit can also be worn on a belt.

IntroductionCeramic Beads are used in Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters, Channel Heaters and Flexible Insulated Preheaters (see pages 7 to 9). Our ceramic beads can withstand temperatures of up to 1460°C in the long term and 1580°C in the short term.

CERAMIC PAD HEATERS (30v, 40v, 60v & 80v)
IntroductionIdeal for the pre- and post-heat of welds, we offer 30v (1.35kW), 40v (1.8kW) and 60v (2.7kW) and 80v (3.6kW) Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters which have a maximum working temperature of 1000°C.
Modular DesignsModular designs enable our Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters to be made in a number of configurations to suit a wide variety of shapes and sizes.
Dimensions of these are supplied in the chart below, however please do contact us for any bespoke configurations which are not listed.
MaterialsComposed of 19-strand Nickel-Chrome 80/20 wire (WI0301) and 19-strand Nickel Cold Tail wires (WI0400) inter-woven throughout the various configurations of Ceramic Beads (PB0100, PB0200, PB0300, PB0400, PB0500 and WB0500). 2 pieces of 60v Complete Sets of Brass Connector Plugs (Male Camlocks CA0700) are used at the end of the tail beads to connect the Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters to the Heat Treatment Units.
Flexible Ceramic Pad Heaters should be fitted to the component by banding (see Heat Treatment Accessories section on page 14) or other secure means. All connectors should also be fully secured.

CHANNEL HEATERS
FLEXIBLE INSULATED PREHEATERS
Channel HeatersBoth the 4-Bank (BH0100) and Single-Bank (BH0200) Channel Heaters are suitable for furnace installations and/or temporary furnaces and require a mains voltage supply.
Channel Heaters transfer heat via radiation and are composed of Nickel-Chrome 80/20 wire, Special Ceramic Beads and 2 pieces of 60v Complete Sets of Brass Connector Plugs (Male Camlocks CA0700), all embedded in a stainless steel frame.
Flexible Insulated PreheatersFlexible Insulated Preheaters are suitable for low temperature preheat treatment.
The Flexible Ceramic Pad Heater is mounted onto an insulated Superwool® Ceramic Fibre Blanket (CF0200) which is surrounded by a Stainless Steel Mesh (SM0100).
The stainless steel backing allows the pad to be applied quickly to metal surfaces using magnetic fixings or by banding.

Nickel-Chrome WiresNickel-Chrome is essential for resistor elements in high temperature applications and operates at temperatures up to 1000°C.

(WI0200)Each roll has 500m length of 2.83mm diameter wire.
Nickel Cold TailOur 19-strand Nickel Cold Tail wire (WI0400) can be either butt welded or crimped together to the Nickel-Chrome Wires using Ferrules. Each roll has 500m length of 3.07mm diameter wire.
4-Bank Nickel-Chrome Iron 60/15The 3.5mm diameter 4-Bank Nickel-ChromeIron 60/15 (WI0600) is a spare part for theChannel Heaters (BH0100 & BH0200).
Thermocouple WiresType K Thermocouple Wire provides accuracy within ±1.5°C. Available in:• Type K, 2 x 0.65mm NiCr/NiSi (WI0100)• Type KX, 2 x 7/0.2mm NiCr/NiSi (WI0101)with maximum working temperatures of800°C and 105°C respectively.
Heater Distribution CablesSupplying electrical energy to heaters and used in Splitter Cables (see below), each roll has 100m length of cable. Double insulated with rubber jackets, our Heater Distribution Cables are available in 16mm2 (WI0900) and 25mm2 (WI0901) diameters.
Splitter CablesUsed to connect heating elements in parallel to Triple Cable Sets (TR0100) and allow for the accurate zonal temperature control of multiple heating elements from one single control output. Available 2-, 3- or 4-ways, (ST0100, ST0200 and ST0300 respectively).

Each roll of Compensating Cable (WI0500) has 100m length of cable.
Triple Cable SetUsing 2 x 25mm2 Heater Distribution Cable (WI0901) and 1 x Compensating Cable (WI0500), this PVC insulated Triple-Cable Set (TR0100) connects Heat Treatment Units to the heaters and thermocouple. Fitted with 300A Brass Connector Plugs & Sockets (CA0500 & CA0600) and a Thermocouple Plug & Socket (TC0101 & TC0102), the set is sold in 30m lengths.
Thermocouple Plugs & SocketsMade from glass-filled polyester for Type K Thermocouples, our yellow Thermocouple Plugs & Sockets have a working temperature of -40 to 220°C and are used to connect the Thermocouple Wire (WI0100 and WI0101), Compensating Cable (WI0500) and recording and/or control instrumentation.

IntroductionCamlocks are spares for use on various units and elements in the heat treatment process.

INSULATION PRODUCTS
Fibre BlanketsSuperwool® and Ceramic Fibre Blankets are used as a general insulation material and is the main component used to make insulation blankets (see below). Easy to cut and install, we offer 2 types of blanket:• Ceramic Fibre is made of long fibres and
comes in 128kg/m3 and 96kg/m3 densitieswith a maximum working temperature of1260°C (CF0100 and CF0101).
• Superwool® is made of soft, short fibresand has a maximum working temperatureof 1260°C (CF0200).
Stainless Steel MeshUsed to cover all our Fibre Blankets to make insulation pads (see below), the Stainless Steel Mesh is required to hold the Ceramic Fibre Blanket together.
We have 2 sizes of mesh rolls available:• 635mm wide, 30m in length (SM0100)• 300mm wide, 50m in length (SM0200)
Insulation BlanketsOperating at temperatures of up to 1260°C, our Insulation Blankets are made from Superwool® Ceramic Fibre Blankets (CF0200) and protected in Stainless Steel Mesh (SM0100 & SM0200) to prolong the life of the insulation. The Insulation Blankets can be used repeatedly without loss of thermal properties and are available in 9 sizes:

HEAT TREATMENT ACCESSORIES
IntroductionTo facilitate the heat treatment process, we offer a selection of useful accessories.
Permanent Round MagnetsUsed to hold Flexible Insulated Preheaters in place during preheat treatment. With a magnetic induction of 500-700Gs, Permanent Round Magnets (RM0100).
Copper ShimsCopper Shims are used to wrap around the multistrand bared wires of the Heater Distribution Cables (WI0900 & WI0901) to ensure that the strands of wires remain in tact during connection to Camlocks. Rolls are available in 2 widths:• Copper Shims ¾” (CS0100), 46.6m long• Copper Shims ½” (CS0200), 72.2m long
Banding ToolsTo generate successful results during heat treatment processes, Ceramic Pad Heaters must be held in position securely. This is done by banding which requires 3 components:• Stainless Steel Banding Strap (BS0100)
has 30m per roll• Stainless Steel Banding Clips (BS0200)
are sold with 100 pieces per set• Banding Machine (BS0300) is sold as a
single unit and is used to tighten, cut off andclip the Stainless Steel Banding Strap andClips in place
Thermocouple PuttyThermocouple Putty (PT0100) is used to fix over the hot junction of the thermocouple. After 20 minutes, the putty dries and hardens to protect the hot junction and help avoid possible short circuits, minimising temperature control and recording errors. Sold as a single item in 1kg jars.
FerrulesThere are 2 methods of securing the junction where the Nickel-Chrome 80/20 wire (WI0301 & WI0302) connects to the Nickel Cold Tail Wire (WI0400); welding or crimping. Both options require ferrules:• Welding Ferrule (WF0100) is 1” in length• Crimping Ferrule (SC0100) is 0.5” in lengthMade from Stainless Steel, our ferrules aresold with 50 pieces per set.

Cooling FanCooling fans are used in Heat Treatment Units to enhance ventilation within the unit and minimise heat build-up. Our 100v Cooling Fan (FA0100) is sold as a single item - no minimum order required.
Electromagnetic ContactorsSingle Pole Electromagnetic Contactors are used in Heat Treatment Units to control the switching of power supply to each channel.
