The gas evacuation apparatus (GEA) was designed to safely and actively remove waste gas associated with everyday inhalation

anesthesia. The waste gas from mask(s) like cone, concentric tubing and stereotaxic frame nosecone masks can be pulled

through activated charcoal canister so that the air can be re-circulated into the room. The GEA will accommodate waste gas

supply from at least 5 masks.

No venting hood is required while using.

Powerful capture allows to accommodate waste gas supply

The velocity of “pull” or “draw” can be adjusted depending

Isoflurane: (Forane, 1-chloro-2,2,2-trifluoroethyldifluoromethyl ether) Halogenated ether that is clear, colorless, volatile liquid at

standard temperature and pressure. It has a mild, ether-like odor and a molecular weight of 184.5.

Sevoflurane: (2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl) ethyl ether) Halogenated ether that is a sweet smelling, non-flammable fully fluorinated

methyl isopropyl ether and has a molecular weight of 200.

While very similar, isoflurane and sevoflurane have slightly different effects and mechanisms of action, even though the anesthetic

Gas Filter Canister

The disposable gas filter canister is an easy and economical way to absorb the anesthetic gases including isoflurane, halothane or

sevoflurane. The venting hood is not required any more. Easy to use and exchange.

Two sizes are available: the small R510-31S initially weighs 300 gram and absorbs 50 gram and the larger R510-31 initially weighs

800gm and absorbs 200 gram of pure isoflurane, halothane or sevoflurane. They must be discarded when reaching its saturation. Nitrous

oxide is not removed.

This type of Cone Masks, our latest designed for special mice, neonate and adult rats, is made from clear acrylic and fits for “passive”

charcoal canister. The diaphragms on these masks seal the mask around the face of animals to ensure a tight fit and eliminate leakage of

anesthetic gases into the room, and protect personnel from gas exposure. The competitive small sizes will not interfere with animal’s

Stereotaxic Frame Nosecone Masks

This type of anesthetic masks is specifically designed to fit most stereotaxic frame and deliver anesthetic gases with minimal researcher

exposure during stereotaxic surgery in rats or mice. They are locked onto the adaptor with the cone opening toward the open “U”. The

animal’s teeth is placed over the incisor bar owned by mask itself, and sliding the adaptor and mask forward until the cone is snug about

the animal’s nose, thereby replacing the nose clamp. The anesthetic gases flow into the nose cavity and out the other side.

Two kinds of Stereotaxic Frame Nosecone Masks are available: one is “passive” mask with collinear inlet and outlet, and the other one is

“active” mask with separate (non-collinear) inlet and outlet on both sides. Then, the “passive” mask is used with charcoal canister only,

and the “active” mask can be used with evacuation system.

animal head is fixed. Judgment by the naked eyes may bring large error during deep nuclei

positioning. This calibrator refers to international standard mouse brain atlas and takes Bregma and

Lambda as reference point. The distance between B(0) and L(0) is 7.67mm. When the skull is level,

these two points should be at the same level. When it is secured to the X-Z manipulator of stereotaxic

instrument and descends, the tips of B(0) and L(0) should land on the skull simultaneously. Otherwise,

the adaptor should be adjusted until the skull gets level.�

68085 Rabbit Adaptor

This adaptor holds the rabbit head through dedicated cheekbone

For PET/CT brain imaging of animals, it is difficult to hold the head

firmly while anesthetized status. Based on PET/CT imaging

requirement, RWD specifically developed this adaptor for holding the

68399 Electrode Zero Point Calibrator

This Electrode calibrator is used to set the Zero position for electrode in

stereotaxic surgery. In the vertical direction, the reference point is 30mm

higher than that of ear bars. It was designed for RWD 68000 series stereotaxic

instruments.

68398 A/P Zero Point Calibrator

This calibrator can be used to set electrode's position on the large animal

stereotaxic instruments. It includes an A/P rail of 255mm long, with the scale

of + 100mm ~ -100mm at 1mm accuracy. This rail is fixed to an aluminum

plate (255mmx128mm), on which there is a small cylinder aligned to the zero

point of the rail. The position relationship between the peak of cylinder and A/P

rail is in accordance with that between the zero point of ear bars and the rail

on the stereotaxic instruments. Combined with the 2-D manipulator and A/P

rail, this tool can calibrate the electrode to Zero position in a three-dimensional

coordinate system.

68400 Electrode Angle Calibrator

This calibrator can rectify the electrode position at any angle quickly and

accurately in stereotaxic surgery,with which 3-D coordinates can be

determined and the electrode can be moved to correct position. After angel

value is set, the manipulator placed on the dovetail arm can be adjusted until

the tip of the electrode moves to the target coordinates in the vertical direction.

The movable slider of the sliding slot has vernier caliper with 0.1mm accuracy.

When the slider is set at the zero, the zero point of sliding slot is correlated

with that of ear bars, and both the slot and vertical rotation bar are at zero

position.

This calibrator is applicable only to RWD 68000 series stereotaxic

Ordering Instructions:1. Determine the target area for drug administration according to research requirements and identify the specific depth of the

interested nuclei by referring to brain atlas.

2. Choose a certain type of guide cannula according to the brain nuclei size and the solubility of drug, and then determine the

length of guide cannula according to position of target nuclei. The length of guide cannula refers to the length of stainless steel

tube below the plastic pedestal (marked as C in the diagram). C value can be customized. Please refer to ordering information.

3. Determine the length of dummy cannula (marked as G2 in the diagram). Usually, after the dummy cannula is fixed to the guide

cannula by screw, the tip of dummy cannula is flush or protruding 0.5mm. G2 value can be customized. (Note: When 62002 is

used with 62102, the tip of dummy cannula can be flush or protrude only when the length of guide cannula is less than

15.20mm.)

4. Determine the length of internal cannula (marked as G1 in the diagram). Usually, when the internal cannula is inserted into

the guide cannula, the tip of internal cannula is flush or protruding 0.5mm. G1 value can be customized as well.

MCAO SutureMCAO Sutures

To meet the need for novel therapeutic approaches, experimental stroke research frequently employs rodent models of focal

cerebral ischaemia. Proximal occlusion of MCA via the intraluminal suture technique (so called Middle Cerebral Artery Occlusion

filament or suture model) is probably the most frequently used model in experimental stroke research. A silicon coated filament is

introduced into the common carotid artery and advanced along the internal carotid artery into the Circle of Willis, where it blocks

the origin of the middle cerebral artery. Therefore, MCAO Sutures are the key materials for the stroke modeling on rats, mice and

other animals.

RWD MCAO suture utilizes high-quality silicon rubber-coated monofilaments to induce ischemic stroke model. The within-group

variation of stroke models can be maximally reduced by the super smooth surface and evenness of RWD suture. And without

rupturing the vesicle, RWD suture makes its insertion into the animal brain much easier. The stability is also greatly increased for

the cerebral ischemia modeling and more consistent data. RWD sutures are available in nylon monofilament material, diameters

of silicone-rubber coated part range from 0.21 mm to 0.50 mm; Length of suture from3-5cm.

Specifications:

1. Soft silicon rubber-coated monofilaments effectively reduced the occurrence of the insufficient occlusion by increasing the

suture dimension but not rigidity. This results the blood vessel to be completely occluded and ensures the success of

cerebral ischemia modeling.

2.Surgeon can easily sense the inserting resistance when reach its targeted position, because of the softness of RWD

suture. Insert the suture until the position close to the bifurcation of external carotid artery and carotid artery show in the

picture.
