Established in Toronto in 2004, Furnishings’ MATE started with a mission of sourcing quality furniture, with designs that would resonate with the general public, at affordable price points for all.
By 2009, we refined our vision and focused on offering dining chairs, stools and small dining tables, to meet the needs in the rise of new homes being built during this time. We also began to challenge ourselves to design new products specifically to suit the needs of homeowners in our direct market.
Each product was designed or sourced with three questions in mind:
1) Is the design functional and does it appeal to the majority of consumers? 2) Is the construction and material used, durable and suitable for the modern-day home? 3) Is the price reasonably affordable?
Each product must encapsulate all three criteria to meet our strict standards and make the cut.
From our past experience operating a retail store, we came to understand that our success would not only be based on the products offered, but also on outstanding customer service and brand loyalty. With this in mind, we ensure we factor in how we can provide the customer with a positive experience, when the product concept is originated. In order to gain the trust of our retailers and provide a seamless experience, we focus on the design, materials, production, packaging, shipping, assembly and delivery of each product. We truly view our retailers as our ‘teammates’, with a team goal of delivering an exceptional product through the entire process, from the factory to someone’s home.

Finishings/Material:
Contract Grade – a grade suitable for high-traffic use such as in a restaurant environment
Velvet – a plush fabric covering with textured surface
PU (polyurethane) or leatherette – a manufactured, environmentally and animal-friendly alternative to leather, durable and long-lasting
PPM – premium quality PU, softer and more luxurious than standard PU
Brass Plating – brass look metal finish minus issues with tarnishing, for easy maintenance
Faux Wood – powder coated metal finish that gives the timeless and classic appearance of wood, but with superior durability – comes in Black Walnut or White Oak

Width – side to side measurement taken at the product’s widest point
Depth – front to back measurement taken at the product’s deepest point
Height – top to bottom measurement taken at the product’s highest or tallest point
Seat H – height measurement taken from the floor to the top surface of the product’s seat
Seat D – front to back measurement of the seating area
Counter stool– a standard stool with seat height usually around 26”, suitable for home use or kitchens
