Design LED Products Ltd was founded in Scotland as an

LED light-guide technology company in 2004. Over the

past 10 years the companys reputation has grown

significantly, and Design LED is becoming recognised

today as an award winning, global innovator in the field

of LED lighting and back-lighting technology.

Design LEDs mission is clear - to facilitate the design,

development and delivery of unique and highly

differentiated lighting products, with a huge aesthetic

and performance wow factor, solving significant

challenges for our customers.

We achieve this in collaboration with our suppliers, designers, and quality

manufacturing partners, developing exciting new products, using our

internationally patented lighting technology.

Recently the Company has received industry recognition from some of Europes

leading retailers and, additionally we were delighted to receive a Highly

Commended Award at Lux Live in London in 2013.

Our reputation has been enhanced further this month with the inclusion in the

prestigious Lux Magazine "Power List of the 25 Most Exciting Lighting Companies in the UK for 2014.

In April 2014 under the very proud and patriotic Scottish banner of The Clan, we

are delighted to be launching our first two sets of products which we believe truly

deliver the competitive advantage of our technology.

Clan Shelf introduces, what we believe to be the worlds thinnest shelf lighting

solutions in two models named romantically after famous Scottish Castles and

Rivers.

Clan Backlighting & Signage introduces what we also believe to be the worlds

first truly customisable, double sided and curvable backlighting and signage

lighting solutions named, after famous Scottish Lochs (Lakes).

Future products and applications are in the pipeline focussing heavily on

customisation and integration, and really we look to our partners and customers

and ask the question, How would you like to use this unique technology to solve

your lighting challenges and grow your own business?

After a successful technology

launch at LuxLive in November

2013, Design LED are launching

the Clan range of professional

lighting products. These products

utilise our light tile technology,

which uniquely integrates LEDs

and optics in a thin and

mechanically flexible form factor.

We achieve this by building on an

internationally patented Technology

Platform which integrates low cost, low profile LEDs into an extremely thin,

highly efficient, flexible and transparent tile, or panel of light. Importantly

these light tiles also include integrated optics, reducing thickness,

materials, cost and optical losses.

At a technology level our strategy has been to address head-on the key

Encapsulation of LEDs maximises optical coupling

Coupled light is reflected from the optical medium interface by total internal reflection (TIR)

Surface features disrupt TIR and extract light

Control of pattern and form of surface features provides control of relative light extraction

Use of prismatic films delivers a highly asymmetrical light intensity distribution for general lighting applications

Planarisation of prismatic film provides LID control to support backlighting applications

Clan ShelfThe world s thinnest shelf lighting solutions*

The supremely thin Clan Shelf product range delivers very high quality product illumination, with no shadowing, from an efficient and super-slim lighting system.

We believe this portfolio represents the worlds thinnest shelf lighting solutions, delivered in two options as either a high quality luminaire or cost optimised tile for superb integration.

These products are named after our beautiful Scottish Castles in luminaire format, and Scottish Rivers in cost optimised format.

Edinburgh Castle is amongst the most compact, beautiful and enduring of any in Europe, and it is a fitting name for our premier shelf luminaire, Edinburgh, with its elegant and robust enclosure design.

Clyde, our cost optimised shelf product is named after one of Scotlands most famous rivers long, winding and integrated into the very fabric of the hard working community in Western Scotland.

In addition to their amazing form factor and design, each of these products are highly customisable in size, shape, output and, importantly, beam angle distribution, which is a key feature of the integrated optics utilised in Design LED technology.

Luminaires can be connected sequentially, and a maximum of 10 luminaires may be driven from a single recommended ECG.

Each luminaire has supporting endcaps, providing power, an electrical interface or finishing to the sequence of luminaires.

The power inlet module has a capacitive switch option with ON/OFF and 3 stage dimming.

Additional cable interconnects provide the capability to daisy chain luminaires around shelf mounting brackets and other obstructions.

The LED modules are fitted with a pair of 2-pin 2.5 mm pitch connectors. Modules may be connected sequentially, and a maximum of 10 modules driven from a single recommended ECG.

LED modules can be trimmed to 156 / 312 mm lengths, and LED

chains can all also be trimmed to for 21 / 42 mm module widths.

The flexible Clan Signage and Backlighting product range delivers very high levels of efficiency and uniformity in a flexible super thin system.

We believe this portfolio represents the worlds first (and thinnest) double-sided, flexible backlighting system, delivered in two options, optimised for performance and cost.

Following our strong heritage, these products are named after our beautiful Scottish Lochs.

Ness is our high density product, named after a very famous loch which is vast, mysterious and legendary for what lies within its depths.

Lomond, our low density product, is suitably named after this internationally recognisable loch, which although slightly less deep than Loch Ness is famed for its beauty and crystal clear waters.
