Plenum (blue) P/N M58646 Non-Plenum (blue) P/N M58650 (Other colors are also available) Mohawk introduces its redesigned GigaLAN 10 reduced OD. The reduced .295” OD offers enhanced flexibility and installation ease into conduit. The cable offers a cost-effective solution for high bandwidth applications from desktop to data centers. It is used for Horizontal Cabling Systems as described in Draft TIA 568-B.2-10 and Draft ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA. Primary markets benefiting from this product include Data Centers, Healthcare, Education and Financial sectors. Mohawk’s GigaLAN 10 is the highest performance Category 6A UTP cable which supports 10GBASE-T (10 Gigabit Ethernet) applications over a full 100-meter channel and provides 750 MHz confirmed stability. The unique FlexWeb ® combined with a patented fluted jacket construction isolates cable pairs and offers outstanding pair-to-pair balance for superior head- room. Designed specifically for 10GBASE-T applica- tions, GigaLAN 10 is also fully backward compatible for 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet) and 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet) applications. The cable design exceeds specified component stipulations of the TIA Augmented Category 6 proposed standard which provides and added measure of performance. GigaLAN 10 is constructed of #23 AWG solid bare copper insulated conductors assembled into four tight- ly twisted pairs with the FlexWeb core separator and a ripcord under a special overall jacket. Mohawk’s design combining the patented FlexWeb core separator reduces the effects of internal crosstalk and the innova- tive jacket maximizes Alien Crosstalk performance. This performance is ensured through the design and manufacturing phase adhering to ISO 9001 standards. The cable exceeds Draft TIA 568-B.2-10 and Draft ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA. The Plenum cable is listed as C(UL)US Type CMP and the Non-Plenum cable is listed as C(UL)US Type CMR (pending). In accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), conduit fill is limited to 40% which has become a LAN industry installation practice. GigaLAN 10’s reduced OD size addresses pathway and space concerns by allowing a greater number of cables into the conduit. The difference in OD size and number of cables is illustrated below: Giga LAN 10 Giga LAN 10 Reduced OD Old OD = .320” New OD = .295” 1” conduit = 4 cables 1” conduit = 4 cables 1.5” conduit = 9 cables 1.5” conduit = 10 cables 2” conduit = 15 cables 2” conduit = 18 cables 3” conduit = 35 cables 3” conduit = 41 cables 4” conduit = 62 cables 4” conduit = 73 cables The National Electrical Code also has standards for tray fill and number of cables required for current and future needs. With a 4” deep cable tray, the difference between OD size is illustrated below: Giga LAN 10 Giga LAN 10 Reduced OD Old OD = .320” New OD = .295” 12” cable tray = 477 cables 12” cable tray = 562 cables 24” cable tray = 955 cables 24” cable tray = 1124 cables 36” cable tray = 1432 cables 36” cable tray = 1686 cables In addition to increased cable conduit and tray capacity, the reduced OD design improves the product’s bend radius from 1.3” to 1.25”. This creates easier installation solutions for closets and work station outlets. GigaLAN 10 is secured by Mohawk’s Open Architecture Solutions Warranty. It offers an end-to-end GigaLAN 10 GbE 25-year warranty with an extensive connectivity partner list for Plenum and Non-Plenum installations. The warranty also guarantees performance compliance to the 10 Gigabit draft IEEE 802.3an. Mohawk introduces its redesigned GigaLAN 10reduced OD. The reduced .295” OD offers enhancedflexibility and installation ease into conduit. The cableoffers a cost-effective solution for high bandwidthapplications from desktop to data centers. It is usedfor Horizontal Cabling Systems as described in DraftTIA 568-B.2-10 and Draft ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA.Primary markets benefiting from this product includeData Centers, Healthcare, Education and Financialsectors.

Mohawk’s GigaLAN 10 is the highest performanceCategory 6A UTP cable which supports 10GBASE-T(10 Gigabit Ethernet) applications over a full 100-meterchannel and provides 750 MHz confirmed stability. The unique FlexWeb® combined with a patented flutedjacket construction isolates cable pairs and offersoutstanding pair-to-pair balance for superior head-room. Designed specifically for 10GBASE-T applica-tions, GigaLAN 10 is also fully backward compatiblefor 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet) and 1000BASE-T(Gigabit Ethernet) applications. The cable designexceeds specified component stipulations of the TIAAugmented Category 6 proposed standard whichprovides and added measure of performance.

GigaLAN 10 is constructed of #23 AWG solid barecopper insulated conductors assembled into four tight-ly twisted pairs with the FlexWeb core separator and aripcord under a special overall jacket. Mohawk’sdesign combining the patented FlexWeb core separatorreduces the effects of internal crosstalk and the innova-tive jacket maximizes Alien Crosstalk performance. This performance is ensured through the design

and manufacturing phase adhering to ISO 9001standards. The cable exceeds Draft TIA 568-B.2-10and Draft ISO/IEC 11801 Class EA. The Plenum cableis listed as C(UL)US Type CMP and the Non-Plenumcable is listed as C(UL)US Type CMR (pending).

In accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC),conduit fill is limited to 40% which has become a LANindustry installation practice. GigaLAN 10’s reducedOD size addresses pathway and space concerns byallowing a greater number of cables into the conduit. The difference in OD size and number of cables isillustrated below:

GigaLAN 10 GigaLAN 10 Reduced OD

Old OD = .320” New OD = .295”

1” conduit = 4 cables 1” conduit = 4 cables

1.5” conduit = 9 cables 1.5” conduit = 10 cables

2” conduit = 15 cables 2” conduit = 18 cables

3” conduit = 35 cables 3” conduit = 41 cables

4” conduit = 62 cables 4” conduit = 73 cables

The National Electrical Code also has standards fortray fill and number of cables required for current andfuture needs. With a 4” deep cable tray, the differencebetween OD size is illustrated below:

GigaLAN 10 GigaLAN 10 Reduced OD

Old OD = .320” New OD = .295”

12” cable tray = 477 cables 12” cable tray = 562 cables

24” cable tray = 955 cables 24” cable tray = 1124 cables

36” cable tray = 1432 cables 36” cable tray = 1686 cables

In addition to increased cable conduit and traycapacity, the reduced OD design improves theproduct’s bend radius from 1.3” to 1.25”. This createseasier installation solutions for closets and workstation outlets.

GigaLAN 10 is secured by Mohawk’s Open ArchitectureSolutions Warranty. It offers an end-to-end GigaLAN10 GbE 25-year warranty with an extensive connectivitypartner list for Plenum and Non-Plenum installations. The warranty also guarantees performance complianceto the 10 Gigabit draft IEEE 802.3an.
