Increasing speed
Experience gained in day-to-day project work shows that many customers request faster implementation cycles and time-to-market when implementing FS-PM, the SAP policy management system. Furthermore, customers ask for more customizing options while expecting less cost.
Reducing complexity
The integration of new products in FS-PM, the SAP standard software, poses challenges to project members and IT specialists alike: from the blueprint to filling the product system, a high number of setting options have to be taken into account.
New product launches extend not only to the policy management system. It is the interplay with surrounding interfaces—from operational systems, such as Incentive and Commission Management, Claims Management, Collections and Disbursements to analysis and reporting and even reinsurance, market presence, and much more—that warrants success.
Involving the department at an early stage
The options for configuration and product maintenance in SAP FS-PM are in most cases tailored to highly specialized IT experts. Direct involvement of the product development department is thus made difficult, if not impossible. As a result, detours via written specifications, which tend to be vague, complicate communication.
The appropriate and early involvement of the department in the product definition is an essential success factor because it reduces time-consuming coordination processes.

It is precisely these challenges that the Product Analyzer 3.0 by Faktor Zehn tackles.
The tool was developed in cooperation with the Vienna Insurance Group (VIG), one of the largest listed international insurance groups in Central and Eastern Europe, and its subsidiary BIAC. The aim was to reduce costs and complexity as well as to accelerate projects.
The Product Analyzer is already in productive use.
