The PrintStation Manager is the control tool forall print jobs and is designed to maximise pro-ductivity. With it the key operator enjoys a trulycapable pivotal role.

Included are exceptionally extensive, straightfor-ward document make-ready options togetherwith TrueEdit and TrueImage. A complete moni-toring service of the output devices, includingthe specific indication of hold-ups (e.g. lack ofpaper or toner), is also provided. This enablesthe key operator to maintain an overall view ofthe status of all aspects of the entire productionprocess and thereby to respond immediately toirregularities. This is a great time-saver.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI) is intuitive,extremely user-friendly and the learning curveincredibly short.

Imposition – The following imposition tem-plates are available: booklet, perfect bound,stack and repeat, cut and marry and doublemint as well as user defined. After the docu-ment is essentially finished the Impositiontemplate is selected and the PrintStationManager automatically prepares the arrange-ment of pages for printing.

Document merge – As all documents are inthe ripped form they can be combined at will. This is a remarkable benefit and enablesthe key operator to speedily produce therequired new documents without needing toconsider compatibility. For example, a newdocument can be produced from componentscreated by different applications.

Page numbering – The addition of numbersto pages – generally required after mergingand editing.

Archive – For the freeing of valuable storagespace and the optimisation of print job organi-sation each print job can be stored where it isrequired. Further flexibility is achieved with theuse of the PDF format or other formats.

Forms – Insertion of personalised and/or vari-able specific data onto a basis of a particularform.

Media catalogue – The five magazines forpaper input are internally pre-determined.There is of course the option to introduce newmedia. The key operator needs only specifythe media required and the PSM automaticallyselects the correct magazine.

Preview – The presentation of the print jobpage by page on the screen.

Annotations – The annotated form of thedocument enables the key operator to use the search function to locate particular document(s).

OCR – The optical character recognition isthe process used for the preparation of theannotations.

At the heart of TrueEdit is the first class previewfunction. This tool has the power to display the whole document or any particular part of thedocument on the screen, naturally includingthumbnails at page level to indicate each finishingdecision. The key operator can then immediatelyedit at page level or organise the whole or anyspecific part of the document. The preview func-tion is pure versatility at a mind-boggling speed.

TrueCurveThis is particularly beneficial for the improve-ment of photographs, and other graphical elements. Throughout the adjustment processthe effects of the changes can be viewed onscreen alongside the original. As well as contrast and brightness sliders there is thecompletely versatile, graphically displayedtoner curve to evenly adjust toner coverage in particular parts of the document.

Screening setupLPI, dot shape and raster angle play animportant role in the quality of digital printing.Screening setup is an intuitive and straight-forward tool so that the key operator canexperiment with various settings for each ofthe three in order to maximise the quality ofthe finished product.
