We kept it as simple as possible with one goal in mind: your safety and comfort, and that is complicated enough. At one hand you need protection against the hazardous environment you work in, but at the same time you want to do you work without being obstructed by your garment. That is our challenge. This is our answer. We are going to protect you without bothering you.
The Kermel HTA outer shell is born for it’s duty. Absolutely flame-resistant, strong and permanently antistatic with a remarkable high resistance against chemicals. The fiber’s color fastness assures your jacket will keep it’s looks.
The liner package has a 3 layer concept. First a breathable PU membrane. This keeps the water out, and let’s the vapor from the inside come out keeping you drier. Next is an isolator from a Kermel based felt: thin and light but it keeps the heat out. The third layer is one for your comfort only.
The complete liner package can be taken out. This has some big advantages:
- Easy to inspect- Easy to repair- Easy to replace if necessary (economic advantage!)- Allows you to have a FC finish on the outer shell only ,which prevents you from
having an oil and water-resistant (and sticky) liner.
This garment has been constructed using largely the input of firefighters. That’s why it has all the pockets at the right place, just like all the other features. No too many and not one short. We have tested everything: from zippers to Velcro, from yarn to retro reflective material . We have tested it in the Lab and in the field. Together with you we have fine-tuned the ICON Protect Classic Silver to the ultimate firefighter’s turnout gear, so that you can do your job with the same passion as we do ours.
