    Sr . Fleuriau, Procurator General , having learnedof the death of Sieur Judice , obtained an orderfrom the Council , by virtue of which he repairedwith Sr. Raguet and the Clerk of Court to thehome of decedent, where they found his dead bodywrapped in a shroud and laid out on two chairs .

    'I'he parties found with the corpse Sr . NicolaaJudice , brother or decedent, and Mesdames Moreauand Carmouche (known as Lorrain), neighbors , allor whom, upon being interroB1'ted, replied tha tthey had been pr esent at the death or Sr . Judiceand had rems ined ith the body, but that they hadno knowledge that anything h"d been diverted fromthe errects of said succeasion, whereupon sealswere afrixed to the affects subject thereto andan invEll tory of the property was taken .

    l~e property consisted in part of household furni-ture and furnishings, a cart, two oxen &nd a cow.

    The family meeting , Which included said NicolasJudi ce and friendS of said minor in defeult ofothsr relatives, was convened to elect a tutorand special tutor to the minor, presumably with-ou t regard to the aforesaiet testamentary cl.euse,but the mSllbBrB ere requested by the ProcuratorGroeral to act in conformity to the last will ofdecedent, by electing Sr . Darby as tutor to saidminor and Sr . Nicolas Judice aa speCial tutor .

    Only three or the frienda of said minor, namely ,Sieurs carmouche, Rlliex and Chontslou, voted ac-cording to the wishes of decedent . Sieurs Cantrelle,Song)' and Cari ton were in favor of Sr . NicolasJudice , uncle of the minar, as tutor , and Sr. Darbyas s pecial tutor.
