PSPPM is an enterprise level process safety application used by refining and chemical process industries for data management, design and rating of critical relief and disposal system analysis data helping ensure relief devices and associated disposal system documentation are compliant with 29 CFR 1910.119.
OSHA’s National Emphasis Program (NEP) also stresses the importance that your plant comply with existing safety standards and maintains process safety data that is current and readily available. PSPPM utilizes a master database respository of critical data deployed on a global landscape used by process safety engineers and auditors across the world, providing a solution to whether a plant’s relief devices and associated disposal systems has adequate overpressure protection.

"PSPPM has been a significant PSM asset as it both satisfies our documentation requirements and provides us with quick executable files for relief device modifications."

Our Expertise
PSPPM is the cornerstone of Siemens patented equipment-based methodology and is the world’s leading provider of pressure relief technology. Siemens PSPPM is recognized as the differentiator over competition with:
Developers of Best Practice approach to Pressure Relief Analysis (PRA) and frontrunner executing over 3,500 projects worldwide
Corporate standards implemented by major international oil and gas companies
Our people, API and DIERS industry contributing members, subject matter experts in pressure relief analysis and software delivery team supporting the full software program of industry standard updates
One-of-a-kind program offering a built-in valve document management system, 20+ relief rate calculation methods and PSV sizing in one tool
Our Value, Our Customer
If a regulatory officer knocked on your door today, how prepared would you be? Without PSPPM, you would need to hire a high priced consulting firm to put together the documentation for you. An investment in PSPPM will have your report printed in a matter of minutes, saving your organization time and unforeseen costs.
Trevor Kletz was fond of repeating: "There’s an old saying that if you think safety is expensive, try an accident." Based on our studies and 20+ years executing projects, findings show only 60% of relief devices meets standard. With PSPPM, relief device information is kept up-to-date, accurate and accessible – helping ensure a safer plant design and meeting regulatory standards.
If your organization is looking to design a new vessel or other capital project, PSPPM allows you to easily design new systems. PSPPM can be used to simulate the safety relief valve system design and determine pipe sizing for each piece of equipment.

Core Capabilities
Equipment-based pressure relief analysis determines the existing adequacy of pressure safety valves, rupture disks, and piping vents
Thermodynamic engine built-in for calculating required relief rates and stream properties, including two-phase relief scenarios based upon and API and DIERS methodologies
Design verification for individual pressure relief valves
Disposal system analysis includes relief headers, knockout drums separation rating and flare tip, flare radiation and pressure drop ratings
Connectivity to third party hydraulic solvers such as SimSci Visual FLARE and ApsenTech Flare System Analyzer, to determine back pressure profile of disposal systems
Central database for immediate access to PSM-related information and mode-of- operation case studies
Customized reporting capabilites for improved analysis and concern mitigation tracking
Connectivity to third party simulators, PSPPM connects to industry leading process and relief header simulation software; allowing for easy transfer of stream information - saving valuable engineering time.
Role and resource based security allow for the management of user access to data. Permissions can be granted as widely as an organization, as narrowly as a single operating unit, and any level in between.
