Rotary Piston Meter
Measuring principleThe oscillating rotary piston divides the measured liquid into accurately defined subsets, which together form the measuring chamber volume. Once with every ring butt rotation the measuring chamber volume is edged out. The circulation of the rotary piston is transferred by a magnet clutch, free of sealed bushing to drum-type counters and registers.

Measuring principleThe direction of flow in the vertical conic tube is from the bottom to the top.The upward flowing media lifts the float for as long as necessary to reach an equilibrium. The ring shaped gap between the measuring tube and the reading edge of the float is just big enough so that the state of suspense is achieved

Coriolis (paralel tube)
Technical data (Not contained in the Siemens PI 1 portfolio)•Resonant frequency of 600-1100 Hz at very low amplitude•Measuring accuracy ????%
Advantages and Disadvantages+Direct Mass flow measurement without
Pressure- and Tempertaure compensation+The measurement isn´t impaired in certain
limits by viscosity, density, gas and solid content
+Signal exits for mass flow, density and temperature of a sensor
- Relatively high price- Sensitive to vibrations (dependent on the
respective construction principle)- High installation costs (dependant the
respective construction principle)- Matching of the device zero point
Measuring principlesBoth the tubes are put into oscillation by a electromagnet.. At the ends of the double tubes are sensors that register the oscillation. If the tubes aren't flowed through, in-phase signals are measured. If mass particles have flowed through the tubes they have a certain influence on the oscillation of the tube. This can therewith be explained that the mass particles are accelerated crossways by the oscillation of the tube.(Coriolis-Effect). When the particles enter, the crossways acceleration of the mass particles is 0, the oscil-lation is therefore muffled. The particles are acce-
lerated across the length of the double tube and when leaving the system, the crossways acceleration and therefore the oscillation of the double tube is maximum. The time and phase shift between oscillation at the beginning and at the end of the tube.

Ultrasonic Doppler
Technische Daten (Nicht im Portfolio von Siemens PI 1 enthalten)Messgenauigkeit: > 2 % vom Messwert
Vorteile und NachteileVorteile:- Einfache Montage auf existierende
Rohrleitungen - Nicht-intrusiv, keine beweglichen Teile, kein
Druckverlust - Verschleißfrei - Geeignet für Messstoffe mit
Feststoffanteilen
Nachteile: - Partikelgeschwindigkeit/

Measuring principleThe electromagnetic flow measurement system is based on the Faraday´schen induction law. If an electrical conductor is moved in a magnetic field an electrical voltage is inducted in the conductor perpendicular to both the direction of the motion and the magnetic induction and whose magnitude is proportional to the magnetic field strength and the velocity of the movement.
For the electromagnetic flow meter the following equation applies:
U = k x B x D x v U = induced voltage in the measuring electrodes k = absolute constant (tested and constant for every measuring tube) B = magnetic induction (constant) D= constant electrode distance (inside diameter of the measuring tube) v = middle flow velocity speed
With the pulsed continuous field (PDC) the coil current and the magnetic induction are communicated periodically.
By different formation and/or by an integration procedure of scanned signal voltage, zero point drifting as well as chemical and electrical interference voltages are eliminated so that the measuring accuracy has no influence on the generated signal voltage.

Magnetic Inductive DC
